why didnt you include VVS laxman and venugopal rao?
by reddy on Nov 17, 2006 12:48 AM

It is pity that VVS laxman and venugopal rao is not included in this tour.. I dont know the reason why SRaina is given more preference over Venugopal Rao and DMongia over VVS laxman...

any one have a clue on how they selectors selected the team... it is pity... with deep pain for showing NORTH VS SOUTH discrimination..

Come on, folks... What do you expect Dravid & Chappell to say? We'll lose?
by Karthik Ramamurthy on Nov 15, 2006 11:12 AM

Come on, folks, show some maturity.

I'm quite surprised by messages asking why the team leadership is expressing confidence.

What do you expect Dravid and Chappell to say? What would you say if you are in their position? The following?

"We have not won a Test in SA before, we have not done well in ODIs in the past few months, we are missing a key player in Yuvraj, we are not used to bouncy wickets. So we will surely lose."

Going in with a mindset thinking you will lose will mean, you WILL lose. That is why the likes of underdogs Bangladesh and Zimbabwe almost always lose to stronger teams.

You have a reason to complain if Dravid & Co were to make bombastic statements like, "We will win the ODI series 5-0 and the Tests 2-0", or even, "We will win."

Realise that they are too mature avoid making statements like this before even a series against Zimbabwe or Bangladesh.

Understand why Rahul and Greg are highlighting the positives: They give the players confidence something to play for while at the same time emphasising that a lot of hard work is required.

Let's be positive, yet realistic and wish the team all the best. After all, that's the least we can do!

They forget lessons very easily...
by Amol on Nov 14, 2006 07:01 AM

I have no clue, why these people come again and show their confidence. Going on a tour and play some matches will only add to their number of matches figure. They have never learnt and will never learn anything from past. Due to such a disappointing champions trophy performance at home, it is really out of question how they are looking to this tour. They have to do well in bigger events like champions trophy to earn respect for them and for the country's cricket.
Please stop boasting and start performing consistently....you just cant play with peoples emotions...
