Pawar criticises Ponting's men
by R A Krishna on Nov 10, 2006 11:56 AM

Two things. One, some people see this as an issue between Pawar and the Aussies and one person even says that Pawar, who is a politician, is trying to get'sympathy'. To this we must understand that Pawar was not there as Sharad Pawar the politician, but as the President of BCCI. The Aussies misbehaved with him by their rude gestures and by shoving him. This is bad behaviour. An apology with some cogent reason would have sufficed. Maybe some behavoural therapy for Ponting and his merry men is in order. Was he not the guy who got drunk and participated in several brawls?

Secondly, this is not the first time Aussies have behaved this way. Steve Waugh has not always been the best behaved person and in his first tour to India, he and some other players were quite boorish at times. Waugh evolved and was well behaved, at least off the field!

India has had well behaved players mostly. There have been exceptions but the board has dealt with them firmly eg. Subhash Gupte and Kripal Singh

Pawar Incident

Success when goes into head result becomes failure. I don't apprecite Australians as a successful team. That moral their players and umpires don't possess.

Nothing wrong

Why are we just looking at this whole thing from just one angle.I think the Aussies dint mean anything by asking Pawar to go off the stage. They are an aggressive bunch by nature and I completely agree that their mannerisms are different from ours.Come on guys, they have won the Champions trophy for the first time..why would they want to share the dias with Pawar whom they have no association with. All they did was ask him to move..when he did not budge they gently nudged him.Thats how Aussies are! Nothing intended!

Misbehaviour of Australian cricket players

How long it will take rest of world to realise that white players consider themself above all rules and regulations? After it is much publicised they try to cool the matter with the use of soft words but again indulge in all these type of activities. It is high time for the regulating bodies to act decisively and strictly against such activities.

The Australian culture

It was shocking...whether Mr.Pawar slavishly smiled at it or helplesly played it down, the scions of criminals and convicts have betrayed themselves...No hitting back recommended...No 'offer' of apology can be greeted with 'acceptance'.What does the boor think? Is it a contract? If there is any humanity left in Australia's culture, the entire nation should apologise to India and Mr.Pawar.

Pawar criticises Ponting's men

No one so far has pointed out that problem started only when rameez raja overlooked announcement of handing over TROPHY BY PAWAR TO PONTING.In this tounament trophy was asked to be given to the winning captain which is unprecedented. Rameez is equally responsible for creating chaos and confusion in this matter .Australians are very complacent and high headed after thief unending victory which is deploreable . ACB should address issues regarding their behaviour in/out of field irrespective of their high performance.

should apologize
by alok on Nov 09, 2006 04:29 PM

well no doubts they should apologize but i think it's better if the indians let their bat and ball and on field activities speak for them rather than how a minister was shoved. (yes yes Mr Pawar is very well behaved....)
It didnt look intentional though, it was a crowded dias
