A Small Story Review
by ARUL KUMARAN on Jan 11, 2008 03:44 PM

There was a dog which used to threaten each & every one whom so ever passes on its way.

So each & every human being passing its way used to think its only a stray dog & I cannot dare to lose by standing against a dog.

Days went on & one day a polite gentle man who was admired by lot many, were disturbed by the dogs unruly behavior even though he tried to pass away it without getting disturbed.

But the foolish stray dog, with out knowing what may be the consensuses, intensified its unruly behavior.

The tempted gentle man did nothing but he just made to understand that dog is only a dog.

Thats it; the dog started running to the end of the street & started crying giving big sound. Hearing its crying all the dogs in each & every street join hands & stated crying that Dogs cannot be treated in this manner, all the human beings are very bad & we cannot allow the human beings to behave in this manner and for that the Blue Cross came in Rescue.

After reading the above article I remembered this story.

Just another point to add
by Abu Mohd. Pharhad Hussain on Jan 11, 2008 01:43 PM

Very nice article supported with data. I would like to another point, why the match referee Procter didn't banned Ricky & Clarke, while the same person banned Rashid Latif of PAK for 5 ODIs for a doubtfull catch that Latif said was clear while actually that was not. Why Procter is double standard, ban one, he is from PAK and leave the other AUS. I think Procter is also racist, he punished Latif and leaving the Ponting and Clarke, one is black, other two white, ICC should take care of this man, he is racist, and BCCI should make this point clear to ICC.

I believe we have to thank Inzy for ultimately getting rid of Hair from 'fixing' international matches.

Excellent article, well supported by facts and figures! Very logical and to the point.

The Australians actually needed a jolt like this to come to senses. Unfortunately, the jingoistic media there has failed to see the logic behind this move.

Had Hair been allowed to continue to officiate, he would have caused further embarassment not only to himself but to ICC, his country Australia and cricket itself.

Therefore, he should thank the so-called "Asian bloc" which dared to right a wrong that was committed earlier and save him further embarassment.

From the observation of his behaviour on the field as well as off the field, it's obvious that he is actually a psychological case and as such he deserves more sympathy than condemnation.

I believer that he would be getting a huge sum from ICC as his contract was yet to expire. He should use this amount to consult a good psychiatrist so that he could lead the rest of his life in a sane manner and peacefully.

at last the judgement has come
by Ajay Bisht on Nov 08, 2006 12:02 PM

Well,
When Injamam was cleared off ball tempering charges then it certainly means that Hair was the actual guilty and now when he is being punished why there is so much resistance by Australia and Britain. Simply b'coz he ahs always favoured these teams against the Indian Sub-continent teams.
I am pleased that at least umpires will also feel that they can't be let off for their wrong doing. Take the example of FIFA. They simply bans the referee who they think is committing frequent errors.

Prem's article on Hair raising stuff.
by Abhijit B. on Nov 08, 2006 11:54 AM

dear Prem, statistically, analytically, rationally & emotionally ur article was a treat. I really loved it. But I think we are missing out the REAL BALL GAME in debating on the ILLUSIONARY BALL floated by the Non Asian Bloc represented by ICC.You will remember that Mr.Hair at one point of time of this scandal had emailed to the ICC offering to retire against a certain sum of dollars. This attempt to Bribery was all open and was enough to prove him guilty. But this major issue has been subdued and Mr. Hair has been gifted with the Ban which the ICC and the anti Asian Bloc has publicised as a punishment. So the Balance sheet shows all profits for him:-
1. successful in harassing Asian players repeatedly.
2. bring disrepute to Asian teams repeatedly.
3. got what he wanted at the end of his career.
4. asians go GA! GA! thinking this as a punishment, where as this was a boon to him avoiding any serious legal action.

Afterall, the aim of Mr. Hair matches with ICC. Its very simple formula yaar. Our Political Leaders often use it .To acquire 'A' set 'B' on fire. But oh my God, the Non Asian people are far more expert in this art. Hats off to Mr. Malcom Speed.

Prem's Pricks at Racist-Balloons
by krish on Nov 08, 2006 04:14 AM

Even though many of us responded to those articles, Prem has hit the nail on the head (or Hair!)with irrefutable statistics to prove that after all Hair is not an unbiased umpire. With such a background to his credit, if he is accused that he created the entire episode with a predetermined plan, it will be very difficult for even such hardliners like Robert Craddock to defend. Hats off to Prem.

Hi Prem,

Kudos to you for the article with lots of facts and figures. I cannot agree more with you.

For those who still think that everything is great out in this world and there is equality and no discrimination against poor third world nations trying to assert themselves - well, they will eventually grow up and will awaken from their nice and cozy dream :-)

If we have clout, we SHOULD use it. Our team also needs to become world beaters simultaneously, but it doesn't mean that just because our team is not a world beater today, we just should concentrate on that (and we all know how that goes :-)) and be a passive, inferiority complex stricken nation accepting everything the developed nations hand down to us.

Nice article prem. But it has a very defensive tone. I say, if the others (read Non-Asian) feel that the Asian bloc is using its clout then I have one word for them... tough... now go cry to your mama.... wahhhhh... see mummy what they are doing... :)
