Indian Cricket 'Patriotism'
by Amit M on Nov 09, 2006 07:02 PM

This is simply amazing! Come cricket matches and suddenly everyone's a patriot! Hey, show your Indianness by going to the LoC and defending our country, by joining an NGO and helping with social work, by simply picking up that piece of trash you threw on the streets. Not by needlessly supporting a bunch of overpaid and underperforming players and bureaucrats in their bid to create a furor over some non-issue, just to cover up their inept performances.

Weak minded celebrate more on winning
by Dr Ch Subrahmanyam on Nov 09, 2006 02:09 PM

Aussies showed their mental weakness by such a behaviour that the winning is a overwhelming emotion to them.

Blown out of proption
by prashanth on Nov 08, 2006 07:32 PM

I think the sharad Pawar issue has been blown out of propotion. Ponting and his team have indeed shown dis-repect to Mr Pawar. But India should worry and think about their poor performances instead of making this sharad pawar's issues big.

well done ponting & team
by Santhiagu on Nov 08, 2006 03:57 PM

Its quite surprising that u respect more the TROPHY than the Indian Dignitary who is well deserved to present the TROPHY. How ricky will react if an Indian captain finger to an Australian dignitary(Whom ricky respect????????) to get a trophy. There must be humbleness in your each victory......Shame on indian cricketers who failed to beat this uncultured men which could have avoided this kind of incident. Well done ponting & men!!! You have made the world to understand your nature that is not of a civilized human...

Presenting the trophy to winners is important
by Sebastian Thomas, New Delhi on Nov 08, 2006 02:52 PM

I think all these incidents took place as a result of Ramees Raja mistakenly closing the presentation ceremony before giving away the trophy to the Australians.

However, this is not an excuse to what Ponting and Martyn had done that day.

Mr.Niranjan Shaw - Is he an Indian or Australian?
by Balaji on Nov 08, 2006 12:20 PM

What was Mr.Niranjan Shaw trying to convey. Is he trying to defend Aussies? It is just because of this kind of TOO FEW GOOD MEN we Indians are demoralised and humiliated. I have only one question for Mr.Niranjan shaw, if Rahul Dravid and company had behaved like this then australia would consider it is an act out of jubiliation?

Oh, come on!
by Amit M on Nov 08, 2006 10:16 AM

Oh come on! The natural excitement and enthusiasm of a winning team was on display, that's all. Not being particularly fond of the Aussie cricket team, I still have to say that what they did certainly does not call for censure. The penchant our Indian politicos have for hogging the stage and photo sessions is well known. Pawar should have left the stage ASAP. Also, we need to remember that the Aussies come from a culture where a bit of ribbing is taken in the right spirit, even by older people. Maybe our cricketers, officials and fans should remember the days when they actually enjoyed winning (not to mention actually used to win several series!) and they might remember the enthusiasm that accompanies such a win.

aussi behaviour
by indian on Nov 08, 2006 04:09 AM

Its really unpleasant behaviour by Aussi. Cricketers and need clear apology from Ricky Pontings team members for that behaviour.
We know that cricket is known for Gentleman's game, but now this incident illustrate that its just game, with out any Gentleman.
In Australia when Aussi. Receive any
Footy Grand final Trophy or other awards as I remember they never behave like that. Just shame for Aussi. Cricketers.
You are not a kid (Ricky ponting) who behaves like that in excitement; you must respect the game on the field and off the field.

Aussies behavior
by madhav deshpande on Nov 07, 2006 09:14 PM

Aussies should be fined for the misconduct. Asians are lot better they too have won similar mega events in past but have not behaved like in past.
