Sachin's absence
by Rajendra on May 31, 2006 06:54 PM

I dont know with intention Lara said this.I am of the openion that Had Schin, who is out of form, could not have contibuted more in this tour.Look at his records for last 2 years. He was not contibuting to the team.Playing once in a blue moon one good innings and getting lelected was getting habbit. No doubt he WAS a great batsman but just on past records how many years he want to paly? For how many years he will block place for others? Why not the same yardstick should be applied for Ganguly Mr.More and Chappel?

Rather, Greg Chappell's Presence
by Cogito_ergo... on May 30, 2006 04:26 PM

More than Tendulkar's absence, it has been the "experiments" conducted by Chappell and Dravid that has ruined our team. In no match has the team shown any plan of action, but has depended on the performance of individuals, including Dravid himself. What Chappell has managed is to destroy teamwork and demoralize some of the players. The loss of four ODIs in a row against a team consisting of ***inferior*** players shows up the team management -- especially Chappell and Dravid -- in a poor light. It also shows that it was Saurav Ganguly who was holding the team together.
The errors and blunders made by the players (dropped catches; misfielding; run-outs; foolish shots; defective batting technique; wayward bowling including no-balls, wides) further shows that the "coach" is not performing, but is just a boorish bully.

Some words for Brian Lara
by Ritwik on May 29, 2006 11:03 PM

You are right Brian Lara. But unfortunately there are some people in India who have a tendancy to bad-mouth Tendulkar, in order to show their over-smartness and over-intelligence. Tendulkar is widely regarded as 'the best batsman in the world' everywhere, except by some Indian fans who have to criticize him in order to gain some attention from people over the internet. It's a shame that they have failed to respect and keep the trust in a man who have saved us from so many embarrassments. And don't even get started on the match-winner bull crap. Maybe according to his critics, match winners are those who scores all the runs needed to win for their team single handedly, or maybe someone who scores the last winning runs.

No way!
by Sruthi on May 29, 2006 07:28 PM

NO way! In no way is Windies team better than India when it came to One day internationals.
Its just a slip.
Lara never came out to speak in the open after India won the first ODI.Just because he has won thae series, he is talking things that can't happen. Moreover the test series should have been held first,so that the players get used to each other and its the cricket tradition and how it is carried out.
Where did Lara and his speeches go when he lost to Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka without even winning one match.

So, its clear....EAST OR WEST INDIA IS THE BEST.

Winning can make all the difference
by Ranjeet Sharma on May 29, 2006 07:24 PM

Brian lara certainly motivated the West indies team to win series agianst india ,it was all apparent in the field.
But i dont agree with his statement that the West indies Team is better than the india Team thats i think is an over statement,I am sure this west indies Team can never match up with the performance of india in recent past.
india not playing up to its potential made the windies run for their money and made the indies feel they are better than the indians.

Come on India ,Grab the Test Series and end all these verbal attacks on the Team.

Best of Luck.
