Mr Rahul Dravid please stop talking immaturely. By doing politics against Saurav Ganguly you will never be succussful. The entire India team will perform the worst until and unless you and chappel bring ganguly back. Under any situation Ganguly is 1000 times better and matured player and captain than you.

Slide in the rankings imminent
by Deepak Bhakoo on Jun 02, 2006 12:20 PM

A 4-1 loss in the one-day series saw India drop in the rankings list from #3 to #5. We can digest that because Team India played badly. But, in the 4-Test series, even if the team plays better, its certain to lose some ranking points on the ICC Test Championship Table - only a 4-0 win for India (a far-fetched distant dream) will result in it gaining one point and go from 111 (current) to 112. A 3-0 win for India will leave it at 111, a 2-0 or 3-1 win will drop it down to 110, a 1-0 or 2-1 win will drop it down to 109, a drawn series will drop it down to 107 (below Pakistan, to 4th position), a 1-0 or 2-1 loss will slide it down to 105, a 2-0 or 3-1 loss to 104, a 3-0 loss to 103 and a 4-0 loss will be a heartbreaker for the die-hard supporters of Team India, as that scenario would mean that their team would drop down to as low as 102 points, just one point clear of the fifth-placed South Africans.

So, in order to prevent a slide in the rankings, Team India need to win the series by at least a 3-0 margin, which, going by the lack of confidence among the Indian players combined with the newly-found confidence of the Windies and the alien conditions, is a very optimistic dream.

Dear friends and indian team,

See here the question is whether we are out played or not ,the margin where we lost(4 loses) ,we indians always wish india to win , some of them feel very much that they cant sleep if we lost(for ex:my father , he is 75yrs of age but still watches the game as if he is playing for INDIA).I don't blame INDIAN TEAM and don't be so over confidant and I have a strong belief that we will win the TEST SERIES.BEST OF LUCK.

YOURS TRUE ADMIRER

Better Player
by Kaushik on May 31, 2006 09:13 AM

My dear get your stats correct as far as ODIs are concerned. In test Dravid has been the best for quiet some time(amongst all Indian players). In ODIs you yorself can judge between Ganguly and Dravid after going through their stats. 100s, 50s, S/R, utility as bowler etc.

Mr. Dravid :: You are wrong.
by Subrahmanyam on May 31, 2006 07:27 AM

Mr. Dravid,
You are totally wrong, the law of averages will speak whether we were outplayed, by WI or not. Mistakes are you should not open the innings at all, you are a got supporting cricketer but not a great winner, like Laxman or Gangulay, you always can play second fiddle, but you cannot take the game away from opponents with your batting skills. Secondly without Tendulkar, we had won some matches, but Tendla is above all of you. Gangulay is always a better player than you in One day matches, ofcourse in test matches the fact is you are good but not the world top player, you do not have aggresiveness that is needed in one dayers as a batsman. I personally feel you must come only at 3rd or 4th down in the order in one dayers, you need to plan rest of the batting order depending on situation, you should never ever open again. Otherwise it will become like your wicket keeping you know. Instead of playing your cards on luck, play according to a plan for each opponent batsman, one pity thing, with your experience you could not figure out how to get Gayle&Bravo, that is the cause for loosing,Test will be same, I think we lost the series, before it starts, unless you find a clue.

Dravid, Yes India were not outplayed because 3 out of the 5 games were close. So do you think it is OK to have such close games against an 8th ranked team who lost to SL, SA, England, NZ? That means you are accepting that India is no better than WI at this moment. This also proves that the recent wins at home against sub standard England and struggling SL do not mean anything. So stop dreaming about World Cup because your team is not even going to reach semi-finals as your players do not have the ability to play in difficult surfaces abroad. All the hype about the Dhonis, Pathans, Rainas, Sreesanths have come to nought.
