I totally agree with srinath, why not.. lets bring kumble, saurav, zaheer, parthiv and drop powar,dravid,irfan,dhoni...experience always counts.....no doubt we hardly loose nowadays...!!!!We can't spoil our record....we have a record of being inconsistent and its changing nowadays...lets bring the 'has beens' and get back to our old ways....of losing....!!!!
I think that players like Kumble, Laxman are too classy to ignore them after branding as unidimensional test players. We will need Kumble as he can be relied upon atleast contain flow of runs in unfriendly pitches..
Indian Think tank..PLEASE take a note.. If India has to win the world cup..Kumble must be the other spin option along with Harbhajan.(Powar).Yes,he is weak in his fielding but then a little can be comprised to accomodate him for the benifits he would be giving.Im not a huge fan of Kumble, but theres no doubt that if given a chance again he would prove very vital. He could well serve as a surprise to many teams who havent played him for quite sometime now. Greg and Rahul..You certainly would be knowing this!

I don't really think spinners have a significant role to play these days, look at the matches in last one to one-and-half years, their task is mainly to reduce the scoring rate a little bit, that's it. Kumble can do that, but the runs he'll save during bowling, he'll more than make up for it with is fielding!!! Also, since he's one of the worst fielders, while he's bowling there will be one bad fielder less in the outfield and obviously more runs are saved this way :-D
In West Indies, it doesn't really make sense to play with 2 spinners. One is enough... Even Harbhajan should be dropped cos he hasn't really done a great job except for the last series or two. Powar or Murali Kartik are better options. Sehwag and Yuvraj can bowl and even pick up wickets, so I feel its better to play Powar and/or Kartik and three or four seamers. But five bowlers are a must, coz even if one of them gets whacked, it would mean the part-timers having to bowl 20 overs, which is not good...
I get the feeling Srinath just wants to see his old buddies in the team... Some people just don't like changes, Srinath is one of them I guess! Hope he doesn't become a selector!!
Srinath made his first class debut in 1989 and his ODI and test debuts in 1991. Sekhar on the other hand played his last match in 1983 (tests) and his last one day match in '85. And Srinath was, more interestingly, 14 years old in 1983.
Jambo is a terror for many players/batsman especially the new players of different teams. His presence in the team is as important as Sachin in the INDIAN team.
I think srinath came in to internationl cricket in 1991-92, and Sekhar retied for the internation game before srinath came in to picture. It must be srikanth who played with sekhar together for India in a couple of Test matches and few one-day internationals in 1983.
