Dravid is much more intelligent and diplomatic than the other two, More and Chappell, among the threesome who decided to close the door for Ganguly. I am not arguing whether that is a good decision or not, but Dravid mentioned it probably because of two reasons; one, open the door for Kumble to come back in OD team for world cup or before, and put a little balm on the not-so-friendly meet between the two in the BCCI's captains' meeting for selection procedure etc. Though remote, but Ganguly may get a chance to an overseas tour, preferably against SA, where almost everybody will struggle, and Ganguly too, to prove that he is no good any more, to stop the argument about bringing him back again. Sourav is also just hanging there, and I think he is also very much sure that his international career is over, just to keep some pressure on the selection committee and the team management, making their decision/comments questionable. And a chance for the media and public to raise the Ganguly issue. When it will die down, Sourav will retire.
It is expected that being a gentleman Dravid should have little courtesy to make any comments about his predecessor Ganguly as it was only Ganguly who had imposed confidence upon him and induced a new system to play with 7 batsman, to accommodate Dravid. Otherwise Dravid was treated as Test match batsman because of his strike rate. Otherwise also it is Ganguly who infused aggressiveness in the tem.
Suddenly I find that Rahul is referring Sourav as "no body..... etc etc". This is not fare. He should not forget that because of this "nobody" he is still in the team and due to unusual turn of events he is the captain now. This"nobodey" had retained him in the team in his bad patch time and used as Wicket keeper. History never show mercy to the traitors- Rahul keep this mind and history also has a unique features- it repeats.
Thanks for Rahul's comment on Ganguly's chance of inclusion in the team India. But the question is our slection board chairman Kiran More does not want Ganguly in the team and the same he informed even to the press and media's. Actually, More forgot about his actual responsibility to select the best team as the situation demands. But with the consultation of Chappel & some useless selectors he did this nuiscence.
Dravid is not a selector. When More has openely declarred that, Ganguly will not be brought back in the team irrestective of the performance then he can not come back. Despite that Chappel- More axis is given free hand and every body knows what that means for Ganguly. So Dravid should better keep his mouth shut. He kept himself unavailale in the last selection meeting just to avoid speaking some thing in favour of Ganguly.
Ganguly was politician.He is successful captian b'cuz of contribution dravid, sachin, veru, anil & laxman. He & jaggu dada were taken their position for granted. and last 2 yrs of ganguly's captaincy ganguly was non performing captain. Ganguly humiliated sachin calling him a tourist, ganguly did injustice kumble prefering bajji, he manuplated with rahul making him bating dif positions. ind did not win all the test & Odis under ganguly. ganguly score more runs & centuries agaisnt weaker side liek zim, bangla, kenya. It is dalmiay used ganguly for his over ambition, both are victims of dirty politics played by themself.Aakash chopra, s remesh, sriram, P pate, hemang badani, ajay jadeza, balaji some are the victims of ganguly's politics. Dravid did not said singel word about ganguly in the media. But ganguly family paper anand bazar presented rahul is villain, ganguly is super hero. ganguly got the support of big dadas, communist politicians But dravid has none. Whatever dravid achieved / perfered it is only hardwork. IT is not ganguly it is laxman & kumble who deseve the place b'cuz of better average. Dravid is the best !!!! Nobody question his team spirit honesty, hardwork.
