Targeting Individual

Yes Jadeja is right. The in and out of the players from the team does not give the young players to prove themselves. Also experienced players get out of form. The is lack of team spirit.

The selection committee consists of novices and have absolutely no exposure of international cricket. They are handpicked by politicians of BCCI, as such we cannot expect any better outcome from them.

The fate of the country is much like the fate of our players in hands of politicians.

God save this country from POLITICIANS.

Selection on team India
by Kunal Naskar on Mar 25, 2006 06:27 PM

In every match we observe many corporation displays rating of player, country etc, it is understood that the same is made basis on performance.

Why the selection committee do no not put some thing like that to rating a player whom the are bringing to the international arena.

I strongly believe the selection for representing country should be fair enough, I also believe the committee also think so, then why can not they be transparent ?

After all it is not that BCCI who is highlighted for their shabby job, it is India, who suffer the pride.

Think on it ........

Selectors targeting individuals !

In their heydays, some in the current set of selectors had less opportunities to play at the highest level. They may certainly be trying to make up for it now by putting themselves ahead of the real players. The Board is capable of rectifying the comic situation.

'Selectors targeting players'

Jadeja is absolutely right. How can the selectors justify not selecting Ganguly in the 3rd test in mumbai where we all know is a spinning track & Sourav is still the best player of spin, probably in the world. Further he has a very good record against England.
Laxman was slected in the squad but not Yuvraj was preferred in the final 11, even a novice will say that Laxman is a better test player than Yuvi & similarly Yuvi is a better 1 day player than Laxman.
In a spin track Chawla was not selected, is this the way Dravid & Chappelk wants to show motivate players.

Ganguly last test score in Pakistan on a fast track was better than all of the batsmen in 3rd test & better than Shewag, Yuvraj,Sachin,Dravid in the 1st & 2nd test !!!!
We have to select a batsman on 2 major grounds --
A) Current performance -- Where Ganguly & Laxman are better than most of the others named above.
B) Past records in General & particularly against the current opposition team (here Eng.)-- Ganguly &
Laxman's avg. are better than Yuvi, Shewag, Jaffer etc. & Ganguly's Avg. against England is very high.

India's 100 in 4th innings exposed the politics & ego involved in selection proicess.

Who cares

I dont think Jadeja would have said the same thing 4-5 years back when he was one of the lynchpins in the Indian cricket team. Targetting players by selectors has been going on for long time and by all the cricket boards. I dont think there is nothing worng in that. If a player is not performing for long time, whats the harm in targetting him?
