after so many years we are seeing the australian pattern of selecting players.you don't perform, what ever be your reputation.you are out.nowadays you see so many budding talents who are fit enough to play unlike the past.it has become more of a profession in india too like australia.if this trend continues we are in for high quality competition and quality cricket.
Sachin is a great player. Why should i say that THe whole world knows it. But his form off late has been so diminished that his very inclusion in the team was doubted. His fellow Mumbaiites booing him on his departure was a testimony for that. The news about his shoulder injury and stuff is hard to believe and if at all there is one it must be a minor one. Nobody in India wants him to be injured. Dropping him would definitely be a disgrace for such a great player. The camouflage is indeed apposite.
Injury or injured by fans reactions, anyways he requires a break may be a long break :) Good Bye sachin. This is the new trend in Indian cricket, say bye to all seniors and finally compete with Kenya on the ODI rankings. Well done Mr. Chappel, you have accomplished ur mission
Given sachin's dismal performance for quite some time now, such a move was round the corner. The injury reason is just an excuse to keep him out of the team. A true gentleman that he is, Sachin, it seems has played ball with the decision makers, in this injury drama. Given the iconic status of Sachin, they could not repeat the Ganguly episode again. This injury fiasco is, I think, is an off-shoot of that. But to be fair to both the sides, even if such a decision was taken, nobody can find fault with it. Now the time has come for the Indian cricket to look beyond Sachin. The Sachin era has passed. Let us all salute this great cricketer, argubly the best batsman of all times.
