This third test match between India and England should be an eye opener for many, who are blindly backing up Rahul Dravid. No doubt, he is a great batsman in present cricketing world and one of our greatest among great batsmen of all time. I have no doubt about it, but his captaincy, though till in early stages, is lot to be desired.
For the reason best known to him and team management ( including coach Chapell), having won the toss, he decided to field with five regular bowlers in his team. This beats all logics for the game and crops up several probing questions. Particularly, it is senseless not to bat first ( there is no serious threat in the pitch, except fast bowling squad of England, who will there any way) and opt for fielding,......when England was beaten so comprehensively in the last test and India is one up now.
I fail to appreciate this strategy. If India would have batted on a clean slate and scored reasonable runs, definitely England would have been under pressure.
