Good decision by the President. Ganguly should take lesson from such types of persons and not follow the advice of the persons who are trying to exploit him. He should realise that only the performance and that also regular performance can bring him back to the TEAM INDIA and nothing else.
We are back to square one. We cannot erase out of our culture - we have etched in our mind an impression that an indiviudal is far more important than a national team and the team as a whole. Just imagine what will the new crop of players, who are dedicated, hard working and committed, feel when any of them is asked to make room for one who has failed to make use of the innumerable opportunities provided to him to perform and prove his worth to the national team! The new team is not paid as much as the so called seniors (grade I) players. Despite that, the give a sterling performance within and outside India.
Hi Ganguly is past and he will never be a international cricketer now onwards.Tell Mr Pawar, this is not politics to win election and make a come back.Today's cricketers should be young / energetic which is against Ganguly. He is already 32 and we have seen him batting, fielding and bowling recently.
I think by making such kind of statements( Pawar,Gavaskar,CM of Bengal, they are pulling Gangulies legs.He should concentrate on his food outlets now onwrds. Regards Sandy
Sourav ganguly A remarkable name in Indian cricket as player & player.Ganguly no doubt is an arogant man but is fighting spirits has given Indian team new shape. initially indians were called \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" lions at home and Lamb abroad\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" But gangult with his cptaincy has changed it. He has really done hardwork to mould new Indina cricket team.
The treatment being meted out to Ganguly is symbolic of the depravity surrounding our so called political heavy weights like Sharad Pawar. If performance is the criteria for selection then what about those responsible for the disgraceful defeat in the Karachi test and are woefully out of form like Tendulkar,Sehwag and VVS Laxman. Is this fairplay or a glaring example of the familiar nepotist/favouritist policy being followed by the vested interests at the cost of National Pride/Interest.
