Indian Team NEEDED someone like him.
by Ankor on Mar 05, 2006 08:22 AM

i fully support Chappel for what he did, here you are choosing indian team not a school team. if you dont reform you sit out, if perform good you are in the team.We have worlds best batting line up, good bowlers and fielders, but just because of this policy Australian are champions and we are not. After a long time Indian team got a very good coach, he has the capabilities to make up champions, but just because of the politics, influence and power show in BCCI i dont think so it will happen.

After having a long contraversy over the ganguly episode , it was no need for greg chappel to again curse and humiliate the thorn which he throwed out...
Let the team perform rather than making waves in Media

TARGETTING CHAPPEL
by balkrishna on Mar 03, 2006 12:29 PM

Before starting to climb ladder everybody needs sometype of support.Ganguly was looking to future coach. But Chappel has decided to to turn blind eye, under the guise of delivering goods to Indian Cricket.Whether he is right or not will be decided in 2007

'I'm here because of Ganguly''

Bravo Chappel. Indian team needed a manager of his type who will not tolerate the heagamony of players who have political connections. It is well known that Ganguly is no longer the captain and the player to inspire his team mates and he can survive with political support only which is detrimental to the team. Can the infamous defeat of Indian team in the Karachi test and their subsequent victories in the one-dayers be attributed to the presence and absence of Ganguly in the team?

Right decision
by Pitke on Mar 02, 2006 11:47 PM

I think Chappel is talking lot of sense here. Whether it should have been made public or not is a different matter. But I am sure that Ganguly must have thought that he can keep Chappel in his pocket like John wright and continue to be "non performing captain" for another 3-4 years. He can continue pulling out of games (just like he did against Aus in Nagpur because of a green top) , continue skipping nets and fitness routines. How on earth can one think of so called "politics" in all this episode? What would Chappel gain out of this? It takes guts and commitment towards the Indian Cricket
to convince selection committee to drop a senior player like him and he has done it. I am sure if Harbhajan Singh does not perform well in the
IInd England innings, he will also be out. As an Aussie, I am sure he will continue taking tough decisions which actually are beneficial for the team. Go, Chappel, go.
