Dravid did the right Thing
by Delson on Jun 27, 2006 11:36 PM

Dravids desicion to go for a Draw was the right thing, he was the man on the firing line, and he is the best judge to decide whats correct. Considering the state of the pitch, the run rate would be nearly impossible even if it were a one day game

Dravids captaincy!!!
by prasad on Jun 27, 2006 07:59 PM

Well it was a real impossible thing to watch the match after dhonis departure with one of the best strikers in yuvraj showing all his talent in leaving the ball and actually doing a decent job of it... It was a very baffling decision by the indians not to go for the kill. It seems this team is afraid of losing and certainly the captain needs to be held responsible for it.

Dravid should have taken a brave decision
by akhil on Jun 27, 2006 03:01 PM

Dravids decision to make the test draw with out fighting was defenetly a wrong decision. especially indian youngsters have a very good caliber to chase the big scores

Once upon a time I was a fan of the Wall.

But he probably misunderstood the meaning of Wall.

Like this, slow playing-increase asking rate-expect a batsman to take risk till the slog overs.

Do u need so many balls to get rhythem?
Meaningless and boring!

here is the man who has played more test cricket and he starts writing about Dravid and his calibre as captain..well after Dhoni, yuvraj has had a bad test match and Kaif was on a pair, rest being tail..do you want to go ahead and chase 150+ runs that too on the 5th day of the match..well, i bet we would have lost the match and you people will start shouting that we should have gone for a draw instead of chasing..when dhoni was playing we required 140+ off 25 overs and the ball was not coming on to the bat..you wud have seen how dhoni struggled to hit the ball. had we gone for the kill, the bowlers would have applied negative bowling tactics..why can't you people just think and write something logical..Dravid is and will continue to be the best captain, player, role model, et al. Try to cheer him and the team up..no team can win continuously..our boys have played continuously wihtout rest..have some consideration and stop writing shits like this..if you can't praise or support the team well just shut up..

Looks like India's goal has reduced to drawing the series
by Madhu on Jun 27, 2006 12:19 PM

For a team that is ranked much higher the WI, again, India has managed to handover the initiative and kudos to the WI. It was quite dusgusting to watch the way Indian batsmen were patting the ball back after tea, despite having 6 wkts in hand!!!!

Though they had done well to reach 200 odd for three by tea time, the approach after was sickening to watch.

Disgustingly boring, cowardly and dull stuff from India. The negativity starts from the selection itself. I don't think this lot has, like 90% of earlier Indian teams, the will to win abroad. They would rather save their asses. Jeremy Coney said he hoped India takes up the challenge or else would be seen as cowardly and pusillanimous. Well, they almost proved him right.

India has slid down dramatically in its performance during this entire WI tour. The yellow streak which was always there in Indian teams has come to the fore again. Saving grace, they did not manage to lose the match, like the way they capitulated for 100 against England.

Dravid guides India to a draw!

With a captain like Dravid, can we ever hope to win? This captain's problem is not about losing games, it is about the fear of not wanting to try to win! We as Indians seem to bask in the glory of mediocrity and Dravid is no exception. Long live Dravid!, the great Indian Torch Bearer!!!!

Dravid guides India to Loose a Win
by Dr. Rajkumar Singh on Jun 27, 2006 07:03 AM

Rahul Dravid has no killing instinct as a captain or as a batsman. His feet are too small to fit the shoes of a captain which Sourav left. I remember only Ajit Wadekar and Kapil Dev who had such lion's heart. We could easily win this test if we would follow the style of Viru. Will Greg and Dravid take dinner with the remaining wickets? He is simply a boring batsman and timid captain. May be his attitude as a slave to everybody including Greg, Powar and More is destroying the winning spirit of Viru, Dhoni, Yuvaraj, Kaif et al. Now the team left behind by Sourav is great. We only need to drop the coach and the captain of the BCCI team.

Does not someone get tired on writing on this lousiest series
by sudip majumder on Jun 27, 2006 06:54 AM

This must be the job from hell! Pathetic series; pathetic display of skills and more importantly a pathetic game that is truly being played only by SIX countries in the world that too barring the sub-continent; this game is not even in the top 3 lists on the other three countries! It is time we as a nation need to grow up; it is time we should feel connected with the rest of the world's passion; it is time to change. No other game unites the world; connect with the people so much as football. It is the parents like us; it is the people like us who deliberately injected the class conciousness in the game (football is for the slums and Cricket is for the middle class; tennis is for the rich)and as a result someone who ranks 34th in the game is awarded crores of sponsorship; someone who performs in some level in cricket becomes a national icon; how stupid we could be! For me at least; I would like to hear Janaganamana in the stand; nor Cricket - nor tennis will ever get me that. We need to pump more money in the team game; in the Athletics and olympic games; we need quotas in the institute for the sports person; it is time to say GOOD BYE to CRICKET to become relevant in world sport
