Well, its not considered politically correct to criticize umpiring standards nowadays, but what the heck!! I watched the match on TV for quite a few hours, switching between the World Cup and cricket. To say the least, the new South African umpire is definitely not up to Test standards. The guy has no clue about LBWs and inexplicably, India was at the receiving end of most of his bloomers....??? Surpsrising that guys of this calibre are in the elite panel when not a single Indian ump has got in after Venky left.....Even in the prior test, the decision making on LBWs was abysmal to say the least, and ironically with the world best umpire doing duty too??
Well, sure a lot of Indian eye-brows are raised.. whats the team management and BCCI going to do about it?
Hi, I believe this report has been incorrect, as Indian team lost the last wicket with the score at 392 and not 362 as has been mentioned in your news report. So there was no question of 'enforcing the follow - on' as has been reported on the page. In fact, the report should have been more emphasizing how the Indian team saved the follow - on ...
Lara made an extremely bad decision in not enforcing the follow-on.He has now given India a chance of coming back in the game and possibly winning.By the way at the beginning of the series who were the favourites and just who were the underdogs! Cheers, Sunil Daswaney
The third test has shown to the indian fans that sponsors among industry and amongst selectors cannot help one face genuine pace bowling. And VVS laxman has stood out among the much fancied indian batsmen.Class is permanent.Congrats Laxman for standing up and delivering, when it was needed.
