First test is totally failure of Strategy on part on indian think tank. keeping pathan n Bhajji out was a blunder, India should play full strength team, If team lacks experience , then Why EXPERINCED palyers are sitting Out ( Ganguly , Zaheer, Nehra)

Novice approach !!!!!!!!
by K.Krishna on Jun 08, 2006 08:59 AM

Again the same approach!! No killer instinct within the players. Including Harbhajan Singh would have changed the scenarion in both the innings of WI team.
Playing so much new player is not helping the moral of the team. Experiments must stop now. A lowly ranked WI team also cannot be beaten either in One-day or in Test. This implicates the fact that India cannot win outside subcontinent.

Last over using Sreesanth was a wrong decision
by anu pillai on Jun 07, 2006 11:55 PM

I waould say that spinners should have bowled the last over . It could be Viru or Youraj. India had nothing to loose in runs . Tail enders could not withstand Anil Kumble. If either of the above had bowled it was a sure wicket.

Hope this would be a lesson for Rahul Dravid. I believe that mistakes make man perfect. Hope Rahul Dravid will correct this in the days ahead.

Regards

WI-India cricket

Shame on Indian capital for bowing bofore the tail end stuff of West Indies. One look at the bowing table shows he has not utilised the available bowling talent judiciously. Yuvraj Singh has always been a lucky bower, known for breaking partnership. He was not given even a single over. Even Jaffar could have been utilised.

After WI lost 6 wickets, Dravid could have tried Yuvraj or Jaffer with three or four overs. This is not a portmortem analysis, but an obvious shortcoming on the part of the captain. When Kumble bowled admirably and the fast bowlers supported him to a large extent, why was the capitan hesitating to employ other resources?

Hello Prem Sir,

Make sure u get at least the spellings correct in ur pathetic reviews.

Try to remain as neautral as possible mate, everybody reading the review is not indian fan to be pleased by ur pro-indian stand.

When u r concerned about Gayle given "not out"by Taufel,u must have been verrry pleased to see Chanderpaul being given out in the 2nd innings.

It's good to be biased albeit at one's dining table.

sadiq.

First TEST against WI
by Madhusudan on Jun 07, 2006 11:18 AM  | Hide replies

"Hunter Became Hunted"!! This is how the first TEST can be aptly described. Well done team India! Well..limitations apart..played well to almost register a victory with a bit of luck permitting. My request to critics / People is do not go to the bitter limits to criticise every decision of team management..It is the prerogative of the coatch, Captain and other senoir players (Selection committee) to decide who will play and who will not!! Once the decision is made thats it..It sd be accepted one and all,,after all it is for the team to WIN with the players they selct to represent in that test!!

Dear Mr. Madhusudan,
So, in your opinion, West Indies was hunter and they became hunted. What a pity!! A lowly placed( 8 th in ICC ranking) is being described as hunter when they play with India which is,as per selection commitee chairman, is a team of future!!!!!

Dear sir,
It is interesting to note that vip's like lara get away with their bad ways like in real life criminals get away without getting punished.

Umpires who want to dispense justice as they please do not like the third umpire being called. These doubtful decisions must be questioned when the opposing captain or player calls for the opinion of the third umpire.

Other wise the affected teams have their morale affected. It is neither fare nor just. But such is the world. Long live the bad VIP culture.

My view regarding the drawn match is that inexperience in the bowling department cost India dearly. With Guru Greg insisting on "Young blood", we've already seen Agarkar being sent off after the one dayers even though he was the best pace bowler in the entire series! The start of the test match had a horrific begining when the news came through that Pathan and Bhajji have been "rested"! So India went into the match with only one truly experienced bowler (Kumble). Had Bhajji been there, then I'm 100% sure that the deadly spin twins would have brought us the much needed win.
Having said that I am still be happy about the resukt considering the fact that we recovred splendidly after being shot out for 241. With Pathan and Bhajji back (hopefully!) in the side for the next test, we can surely win the series! WAY TO GO BOYS!
