No need for Lara to sulk..
by Ankit Agarwal on Jun 09, 2006 04:42 PM

It was really disappointing to see Lara not happy with the umpires decission and showing his frustration on the field. I think in the History of cricket whenever any doubt is there regarding a decision, umpires always give the benefit of doubt to the batsmen, and I think that Lara being the captain of his team and being the citizen of a country where 'cricket is religion' should have known this.
I would also like to point that Dhoni once again proved that we Indians are very humble and submissive in nature, be it donating away some part of our country's land to the neighbouring country or donating away our wicket on the cricket field to the opposition team just because they swore that they do not cheat and the catch was genuine.

Lara spared & Sehwag fined
by shailendra verma on Jun 08, 2006 12:15 PM

Well it seems that the ICC Disciplinary commitee are blind, deaf & dump. They have different rules for different players of different countries.Double standard & surprisingly our Indian cricket board are also bunch of Jokers & do not react & does not stand by their players.Sehwag is fined for excess appealing but Lara is spared even when he snached the ball from umpire hand ,secondly who is he to direct a player when the umpires are waiting for the IIIrd umpire decision. When ICC will stop dicriminating with the Asian countries & when will BCCI wake from their internal politics & look aorund the world.

The funny part is that sehwag is fined for excessive apealing. while Lara is let off the hook.

Lara's Attitude

Umpires waisted 15 minutes from cricket play. Did we get extra 15 minutes time? If we had extra 15 minutes, we would have won the test match. It does not take long to make 10th batsman out.

rediculous!
by Ravi Veerapur on Jun 07, 2006 06:51 PM

i have never expected a man like lara disrupted the game by sending opposion batsman like dhoni at the crucial stage of the match. it is not a sporting spirit of the game that too a well respected lara.

Lara's tantrums
by J.Ganapathy on Jun 07, 2006 04:48 PM

It is quite disgusting to note that inspite of having three umpires(2 in the middle and one in the box)a decision could not be given for an appeal.ICC should look at this critically as such situations take the cricket out of the game. The umpires could have followed the universal rule of cricket "Benefit of doubt goes to the batsman" and Lara could have been brought to books in the interest of Cricket. No one should be treated above law.

hi to all!!!!!!!first of all i would like to say that it was a very unprofessional, unexpected and cheap approach by lara.Knowing that the unpires were not able to make any decision the benefit of the doubt as per the rule should have gone to the batsman which eventually did not.
And the other thing which i would like to say is that it's really bad to criticise our own cricket team coz rough patches do come in every teams history but that does not mean that we hate or criticise the team who brought us the glory of being the runners up at the 2003 world cup.
