Does the Title of this article justified? There is no where mentioned that Dravid is the fastest one to reach 9000 mark. Guess rediff need some "How to title the article?" lessons.
But having said that I will be dissappointed if dravid isn't fastest one to score 9000 runs. Dravid will surely go down as one of the best cricketer world has ever seen.

The article does mention that Dravid's 9000 is the quickest (scroll to the bottom, last but 4/?? of the article)
++++++++++++By taking only 176 innings to complete his 9,000 runs, Dravid also became the quickest in terms of least number of innings taken to accomplish this feat bettering Brian Lara's record who took 177 innings to aggregate 9,000 runs.++++++++++++++++++
No wonder Rahul Dravid is called The Wall. We are privileged to live in an era where Rahul Dravid, who is an epitome of perfection, single minded focus and committment, has graced this Great Game of Cricket. And add his 1)immense talent and 2)the humblesness to learn and evolve as a dedicated student to the above qualities he possesses - he is easily the greatest batsman India has ever produced and one of the all time greatest batsmen in the world. Wishing him the very best to join the 10,000 runs club and 30 centuries club in the near future.
Another achievement that is worth mentioning is that during the course of his 6 wicket haul in the 2nd innings, Kumble also completed 1000 wickets in first class cricket. I believe that he is the 5th Indian bowler after the famous spin quartert to achieve this feat. Congratulations !!
