i think its not a bad idea either
by saurabh mittal on Jan 29, 2006 08:26 PM

hi,i am not fully in sync with what moin has applauded to be a fishy situation. gangualy is a very talented cricketer and no dobut he has been a meat fish in bad politics and over hyped and criticized issues but he had equal involvement in worsening the things.
now if he is getting a go at this pitch then its a happy go lucky situation for him as suddenly the indian cricket team is seeing a huge queue of great players lining up to get a chance to play for their country. so it may be sachin or ganguly, more chances should be given to the new players coming in. yuvraj singh is a very promising cricketer and a very handy player when it comes to bumpy indian fielding.
ganguly is for sure down on confidence and media these days break up anybody going thru a rough patch but then he never needed to become a superman which was clearly caught on by a cameraman where on the field just before the start of day 1 he was arguing on dont know what with mr.chapell and the skipper...
i think he needs to concentrate more on his game and make merry of whatever he gets. if not a game then he can always have nets to keep himself tuned....thanks

Anyone cares.....?
by Sharad on Jan 29, 2006 12:17 AM

Its part of gameplan of team management to see Sourav out, by not letting him open at Lahore at first place... then keeping him out in 2nd Test, when it was quite imminent that the track was conducive for batsmen and now thinking on including him when its a grasstop. Dont get surprised if they ask him to open here either. Unfair or fair, anyone cares in BCCI?

Unfair on Sourav if he is picked for Karachi
by Jayanta Sengupta on Jan 28, 2006 10:48 PM

Well after scoring 15000 runs this man has to prove himself this is surely unfair. As the think tank, read Chappel , More and Rahul, would have liked or wished ..give Sourav a green top wicket he would fail , so they have all the reasons to drop or chop him permanently. Thats what the think tank wishes.Thats how the Indian cricket is played.

playing ganguly will be unfair

Why?? This series has been booked for a drawn series, why all this media hype??Two teams afraid of each other to lose.Let us for get whether playing ganguly will be good or bad will be decided by chapell who is running indian cricket. Donot give undue credit to mr. chappel, even a novice knows no coach is required for ateam which has player like, dravin kumble, sachin, dhoni, laxman, irfan etc.

Stop your rubbish, Mr Moin Khan
by sm on Jan 28, 2006 08:50 PM

Moin Khan is systematically belittling Indian players. First he tells it is beginning of the end for Sachin now he tells Sourav can't be able to play Paki fast bowlers in Karachi. It is beginning of the end for so called pakistani fast bowlers- the paper tigers.India is not England.

Another masterpiece from Asia's best comic writer! Does he know what he is talking about? And it remains a mystery as to how his putrid articles find their way to such classy sites as Rediff.com!!!!

Nothing Unfair
by Rajappa on Jan 28, 2006 07:21 PM

In a way Moin Khan is right saying that its unfair to play Ganguly..He would anyhow fail,he should play only against Zimbawe and Bangladesh.I dont understand whats stopping Ganguly from Retiring with grace..maybe the money he may loose..Tendulkar is probably next in line..i guess he will retire with dignity .Players dont understand that you need to retire when you do good and you know that you are approaching your fag end of professional career.Kapil Dev is one of the classic example..look at the respect he still enjoys..maybe the old players need to learn something from him.

Rajappa

Not injustice at all
by AM on Jan 28, 2006 06:27 PM

No injustice at all. Sourav has played many many fast bowlers. In comparison pakistan bowlers are paper tigers. He is not short of match practice, since he has just played a ranji trophy match hardly 15 days back and scored runs in both innings. Sourav is not a club batsman. Moin Khan is better advised to watch out.

Ban Moin Khan
by Mohit on Jan 28, 2006 05:44 PM

Moin khan should be banned from writing articles for an Indian site.

He has been creating a rift in the indian team and indian public.

Rediff should not post such articles just for masala.
Press should show some maturity and responsibility.

We expect better stuff from a site like rediff.
