Tendulkar Should retire
by Shashank on Jan 24, 2006 10:27 AM

I also think that now Sachin should retire.
He is no longer a good player.
He is burden like Ganguly.

Saurav Rule applies To Sachin Too..
by Suresh K on Jan 24, 2006 10:15 AM

To Prove his ability Saurav should be in Playing 11.When Saurav was excluded from the team due to his past poor batting,Why not Sachin who is batting poorer in a batting Pitch. So the same rule applies to Sachin too and Saurav should be given a chance to prove his ability.

no more reliable-tendulkar
by vijay on Jan 24, 2006 09:38 AM

so its again in front of all that sachin can not be as reliable as dravid...the wall.
he just could not make use most on a batsman frindly pitch.i guess the time has come to rate dravid as best in the world as he got the best technique in the wrold way ahead of sachin, pointing, haden & lara.
i think media still underrating him even after putting a great show all around the world.
the time has come to understand he reality that sachin is best only in media or because of media but when its come to ground its dravid all the way.
so its time for media to pay due attention on dravid's part.

How ignorant and rash behaviour from Indian Cricket fans
by Nishanth M on Jan 24, 2006 03:55 AM

I don't want to dignify the comments by Deepak Gupta by talking a lot about Ganguly, because we all know how incapable he has become and remained so for the last 2 years. Anyway if the match was properly followed it was noticable that Sachin was in very good nick. He was middling all of the deliveries rather than the usual jitteriness, in the beginning stages of his innings, that has plagued him in recent years when he steps in to bat. And I think any performer would atleast be given a few more test series than two, after one comes from back related and tennis elbow injuries, before his performance is judged. And for Sachin, if one can remember what he has done for Indian/World cricket and still capable of, the time should be atleast half of two years I wish, before insanity and dirty Indian politics take over which has taken down many talents down the drain. I hope Ganguly fans can just open their minds a bit or atleast not let others know their hypocritical thoughts. Sorry me, probably asking for too much.

Akhtar & Afridi - Empty vessels make more noise
by Ramanuj on Jan 24, 2006 12:46 AM

Shoib Akhtar was certainly chucking on many occassions. It was quite clear. He gets his express pace only out of chucking. The spineless ICC has let him go scot-free while they have been subjecting Murali to stressful tests on his action.About Afridi, the less said the better. How could he be let off with just a 1-match suspension for damaging the pitch against England. This is akin to match-fixing.He sledges and taunts batsmen as if he is a world class bowler. He too chucks on many occasions. He behaves as if he has hit 25 centuries. In a span of 7 years he has scored 5 centuries including the ones in this series. That shows his calibre."Prove yourself against the best before trying your verbal crap at batsmen.Centuries made at home under no pressure,in placid tracks against happless bowlers, proves nothing about you.Dhoni proved as good as you in hitting the ball out of the stadium, but unlike you,he scored under pressure." Besides chucking shamelessly, they use filthy language against batsmen and deliberately run on the pitch to scruff it up."Great players like Inzamam,Waqar,Akram never resorted to mean tricks, they performed consistently.Stop blowing your trumpet always and be a gentleman."
