Ganguly dropped!!!!
by Vinod on Jan 22, 2006 01:55 PM

I think the BCCI selection commiittee and Rahul Dravid are just playing with Ganguly's career. This is a humiliation for one of the greatest player of alltimes, having lead India to a wonderful victory record. This is an utter shame on Rahul's attitude towards good players. At this point it is also important to remember how Dravid smashed Sachin Tendulkar's Double-Ton to the bin when he was as close as 6 runs.

See I am a kannadiga too like Dravid. But that's just not enough to support this guys attitude.

Shame on you Rahul and Management.

You know that the cricketers dont only play cricket during
international matches? Have you ever heard of nets? Or practice? If
you have to drop a batsman to accommodate a bowler, and the only
batsmen who have batted, performed brilliantly, then the only way
you can decide who to drop is by looking at their performance in the
nets. How does anyone commenting on this board know how
Ganguly performed in the nets? I assure you that how much ever you
hate Chappell or Dravid, they know just a little more about cricket
than you.

Again the same thing applies to Agarkar being dropped. Everyone
might have failed on a dead pitch, but who they expect to bowl better
in the 2nd test is relevant, not who bowled well or badly in the 1st
one. And the nets that they have on the practice pitches on the same
ground where the 2nd test is being held is the best indicator for this.

Play for an international (or even domestic) cricket team, watch all the
team practice sessions and then criticize selection decisions by coach
and captain, whoever they may be.

Ganguly, Agarkar dropped

To quote Winston Churchill's lines to the British parliament in the IInd World War, "You had been here too long for any thing good that you have been doing - depart in the name of god". The message has to be loud and clear - perform or perish. The Indian team Jersey has to be earned and not given by pressures and pulls of friends and parochial considerations. You can not be in the team on the sympthy factor alone. The people supporting Ganguly need to understand that Dravid and Chappel are not acting against the interests of India, even if they are acting against the interests of 2 people. To those of you who are praying foe the defeat of India, I would say, no bigger bigot than you to pray for the defeat of our country's team due to the non-inclusion of 2 non-performing individuals.

Its very bad decision to sourav who served indian cricket for about 10 years..is it the way of showing respect to such a dashing batsman by BCCI or present team..many in the current indian team members struggled for form during ganguly reign..he had not played politics like this..is Youvaraj considered better to sourav..how he included..Really sourav is best who showed our indian aggression and power to this world.Everyone should remember what the present winning team is not built by chappel or Dravid, its Sourav's...

Ganguly n agarkar

I thnk the decision , taken by the team is a planned one and well tght after.
whch is good, depending upon the situation n the pitch. So guys giva tght and be morw responsible in quoting ur words n ur emotions..
Indian teram is gettin better n needs a good headed captain and not one with emotions..

U can c examples in the australian team, they dnt care abt players, but abt the situation. So many times even Mark n Steve waugh had to sit out..
So jus relaz n njoy the series..

We hav to give way to some young talented indian palyers too
