chappel doing the right thing
by rahul on Jan 25, 2006 10:10 PM

Chappel has done the right by putting ganguly out of the game because he is not a player he is a good polytician and he has no right 2 be in the team any more. And seeing the past records of his captaincy it is good but past is past and in present team india has not won even a single cup against any good team except zimbawe who dont know what is cricket....
So sir i request you,you r doing the right thing and advice ganguly to take retirement from the international matches and ask him 2 play domestic games so that he can make some runs........
Sir I like ur

Stupidity of Sourv's fans!
by umasutarao on Jan 22, 2006 07:52 PM

It is very ugly that Ganguly fans (or some unruly elements from kolkota?)target Chappel, or Dravid or Selectors, when ever he is dropped from the team for any cricketing reasons in the interst of Indian Team. This is too much of Bengali Chauvanism! All is fair for them for what ever Ganguly did as captain in the team 1)asking Dravid to do wicket keeping though he is no specialist to accomodate one more basman of his choice,2)dropping players at his 'whims and fancy' when he had the blessings of the other "ex-dada" of cricket Dalmiya,3)asking Tendulakar not to open in oneday matches and taking his spot him self, degrading the great player to lower-order,4).a good allrounder like SunilJoshi dumped inspite of his good performances, 5) by strange coincidence losing almost all finals in One day mathes to the teams which India beat in semifinals suspecting match fixing 6)refusing to open the innings when team requires him to do.7)insulting seniors like Kuble.
but none of these so called Saurav's fans protested? others did not burn Ganguly's effigy?
WE APPLAUDE THE TEAM MANAGENT for going with 5 bowlers and 5 batsman and a W.Keeper, the best cricketing decission under the circumstances

Ganguly-unlimited humiliation
by sksinha on Jan 22, 2006 10:10 AM

Dear sir,
Why this is reapting on Ganguly. Should a coach have such liberty to humiliate a person when there is no question on his calibre(his selection in the team supports that)? The coach has learnt very well that in order to keep his position intact in India he needs to play dirty politics. Shame on the people who support this dirty act. Once a cricketer of his calibre has been considered in the team(based on his recent performance obviously) he should be allowed to play. Otherwise so called cricket pandits of India should openly declare in public their view to dump Ganguly. He dares to play with such mental pressure is sufficient proof of his calibre and class which is missing in many Indian greats.
Thanks
S K Sinha

Bangal has to come up and look from India's perspective. Rahul Dravid has nothing to prove by playing games against Ganguly, his records speaks for him.

Would suggest ganguly supporters to compare the statistics of Saurav and Rahul in past 2-3 years. I agree Ganguly was a great batsman but it is time to move over.

Their action can be harmful of other up coming Bangal players with no fault of them. We all support the indian team but would be better if keep the regionalism out of Game.

True Indian.

Please stop it

I have been the biggest supporter of Ganguly during his whole episode with Chappel and Selectors. But this time I feel Dravid did the right thing. If everyone look carefuly in our batting, then it was difficult to drop anyone except Ganguly, because ganguly may have scroed heavily in domestic matches, but keeping in mind the form in international matches, he was poor in form. So everytime I supported Ganguly, but this time it was really fair considering in mind the condition of the wicket and need of five bowlers to curb pakistan run flow. Please dont make it controversy because I know Ganguly will be back in Karachi, where wicket might not be that flat.

CHAPPELL'S FUTURE
by miryala on Jan 22, 2006 01:59 AM  | Hide replies

It is looking obvious when Chappell become a coach to India we are good enough to only Bangladesh, Sri Lanka New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Till we haven't seen any type of charisma of him the success rate with underated teams is 100 percent.

my friend, what a moron u are! just because u r bengali doesnt mean u have to spew rubbish and expect people to read it... since when was srilanka an under rated team may i ask? ( it was ranked 2 in the icc rating recently till it was thrashed by india). the late order comebacks...watch even the indo pak test...and u still doubt what refreshing change dravid and chapell have brought to india? really, what do u know about cricket? just to shout dada ki jai whenever u wish? be an indian, pls dont spoil the name of bengal which produced so many greats. i think, for people like u, the indian team is only ganguly, despite the fact that india for a change has found the winning combo. i think u will expect him to play with a pair of cataract lenses and a walking stick. so my friend, learn to talk sense, and think twice before spewing rubbish into an opinion column...think with ur brain instead of ur heart for a change!india is not just bengal...there are so many of us that think calcutta must be banned for its obnoxious behaviour and stupidity. let india get a move on, and forget the dark ages, no matter what u think of ur evergreen hero!

Dear bengali's and countrymen... this is really taking it too far.. ganguly has been a burden for too long now. he has averaged 22 courtesy centuries against Zim and Bangladesh... common yaar..he aint even fit to be a 3rd man!

He simply has no place in the team coz he doesnt perform!

Let me remind you of the sad story of one Tamil Nadu player called Sadagopan Ramesh. he was out due to injury sustained in the tour of Australia when he took a rising delivery of McGrath on his hands. He was never considered since. Do we tamils make demonstrations?? nope! take the lead.. the poor guy deserved a place and he was simply over looked.

Let me remnid you of another Dinesh Kaarthik. Who had scored a few half centuries at crunch situations the last time around, and is now replaced by a proven failure by the name of Parthiv Patel.

when performers like these guys are dropped we are not reacting coz we have better things to do in life. Get a job guys! your ganguly has not performed in years now!! He place is OUT! his time is OVER!
