Wrong move... yet a good tactic to preserve a wicket..

When was the last time Ganguly opened a test innings?.... Not sure what Mr. Chapell has in mind but getting sourav to open whould be like 'aah bael mujhe mar'. Perhaps he should come 2nd down.

Getting sourav to open the Pak pace battery might just click to preserve an important wicket of Shewag/Sachin..

Spare Sourav

It seems that the entire Indian cricketing fraternity, has decided to make our ex-captain as uncomfortable as possible. One thing that I fail to understand is why Sourav is not being given a fair chance to do what he is capable of.

We all know that Sourav is a middle order batsman and has never opened in a test match before then why is he being forced to do things, which are not a part of his character. Give him a fair chance to play as he used to play and then assess his performance. If all these initiatives are taken by people who are looking for reasons to drop him, then this is un-called for, because the last time he was dropped from the test squad, no valid reason was given despite his good performance. So, why does anybody need a reason now. Even if he plays well here, I am sure, he will eventually be dropped due to some other reason.

At least give him a fair chance to bounce back and judge him purely by his performance.
