Will Sachin's record be eclipsed?
by Raj on Jan 11, 2006 05:02 PM

I Dont think so.

Even if it does happen that way it wont make any difference. In True Cricketing sense Sachin Tendulkar & Brian Lara these are the two best batsman of their era.

Ponting, Hayden, Dravid, Kallis they may be scoring runs and centuries more than sachin but they will neve ever touch the greatness of the man.

Sachin & Lara has faced more tough bowling attacks over the past 15 years & scored runs. In the last 5 yrs world has seen decline of quality bowlers specially in Pace Department all over the world exception is Australia. And the Australians who are ruling this list doesnt have to face them enabling them scoring centuries against relatively weaker bowlers.
And of course the kind of pressure of expectation these two guys have shouldered and performed under,it will be really unrealistic to count that out.

Ponting, Hayden, Dravid, Kallis, Inzy are great batsman. But Sachin & Lara are true Genius.

Ponting has a little chance
by Amit Trivedi on Jan 11, 2006 02:08 PM

Come on guys,

Ponting is still only coming close to Sachins record....Mind you, Sachin lost almost a year in his tennis elbow injury. Else he wud have reached 38 - 40 centuries by now.
Ponting, nowadays, is in his best form in all his career. He too is 31+ yrs old and there will b days when he will miss centuries/matches and will be in poor form. Lara is older thn sachin and nearing the end of his career. If sachin plays well for another 3 years....Ponting Lara, willbe left behind. No Doubt!!!!

Sachin will keep the record , but pointing may be
by Prashanth G Panikar on Jan 11, 2006 02:06 PM

Make no mistake Matthew Hayden Will never break Sachin's record. Poor guy could almost lost his place in Australian team after ashes series.
But Pointing may break in the long run but not in near future.
Come on don't under estimate sachin , beacuse some one is in purple patch, Don't get carried away.
Every now and then their will be a competitor for Sachin , they compared him with Mark Waugh (1996) , Steve Waugh (2000), Brain Lara (right from the beginning), Mathew Hayden .. list goes on and now Pointing.
Sachin keeps the record or not .Sachin is the greatest of all times theirs no doubt about it , ask Pointing for that matter
