Information about Ind vs Pak Match
by Senthil Kumar U on Jan 20, 2006 11:09 PM

Hi!

This is Senthil Kumar from Chennai. I had a doubt on telecasting about India vs Pakistan. No chances to telecast remain matches on Doordarshan? (Include ODI) I saw your article about discussion between Ten Sports and Doordarshan. But I can't able to understand What you say to people? You said NO INDO-PAK LIVE TESTS ON DD. Is it means to first match or remaining matches include ODI too. Please clear my doubt as soon as possible.

Thanks

With Love
Senthil Kumar U
Chennai.

Ridiculous decision of DD
by chandandey_04 on Jan 15, 2006 10:15 AM

In todays India, Cricket is not only a single game, it is a sport of the entire nation.Million of people are watching cricket on DD without having a cable connection.
DD must have to consider their sentiment & feelings.

No Indo-Pak live Tests on DD

whatsoever the situation may be there should be a live telecast on DD. DD is an mirror of nation and in the interest of india and public it should be awarded with all rights of telecasting the Indo-Pak series without any discrepancies. The viewer of Ten Sports is only in metro cities whereas the DD has nationwide viewer. All top adhocs must realised all the above.

Is GOD pay per view ?
by Anand Sharma on Jan 10, 2006 03:45 PM

Its truly shameful that the entire country will not have the pleasure of watching the series LIVE. Watching 90 minuted of highlights ( after we know what has happened ) is simply not good enough.

Revenue sharing basis was a win-win arrangement which should have been persisted with.

what the heck is this
by sam on Jan 10, 2006 02:43 PM

when the filthy government is ready to take care of silly issues like the saurav ganguly omission, why cant they interfere in this.. this is so insane, the most awaited series is played by our country and we indians do not get a chance to watch it and have to get the stupid set top boxes to watch the matches. Guys... come on.. If u cant telecast a match happening in the neighbouring country, then pack off, and let some other indian channel get the tv rights.

Prasar ''Mat Karo '' Bharti...
by Vivek Bahadur on Jan 10, 2006 02:29 PM

These Government bodies only want to rake in the moolah at the cost of the public. They genuinely are least bothered about the interest of the viewers and do what pleases them - then label it as
" Commercially Not viable "!
So who is bothered about a Live Telecast of the India Pak Series on DD ?
Prasar Bharti - the least !!

Ridiculous & selfish act
by Hozefa on Jan 10, 2006 02:09 PM

The prasar bharti has taken a ridiculous decision keeping in mind only certain points. They could have thought about it for sometime or taken a desicion based on public opinion. Millions of people in India have access to DD network & not Ten Sports as revealed by TOI. There was no point in supporting the terms of Ten Sports because our governement had already made some regulations to deal with such type of problems. The official pannel cannot change it according to what they want, they should take into consideration that millions of people in India will miss the exicitng encounter between the titans of cricket. And as far as money is concerned Indian comapnies are never on the back foot. Well it is the Decision of the panel & i do not think that it will be amended.

Ban TEN Sports in India
by Ajay on Jan 10, 2006 01:58 PM

TEN Sports channel should be banned in India if it is not following Indian government's regulations.
If the TV Channel is so adament is having DD to Pay the tax payers money worth 25 crores and then still not have the privilege of airing its advertisemnts, I think its unfair.

We Indians have to show that, without India there is no cricket.
Just like the last world cup where the ICC relaxed its norms for the Indian cricket team as the world cup was in jeopardy, I think its high time government enforces its regulations strictly to the core and show that if some foreign channel is not following Indian govt.'s regulations it should be banned totally.
