NO CONCESSION TO GANGULY
by Gautam Kumar on Jan 11, 2006 05:01 PM

The tenor in Greg's statement clearly indicates his stated position on Ganguly as far as his position in the context of Present Team India. Any player with potential, better fitness and some good scores in the recent past is ahead of him. He may get a look if things fall apart. But Greg is no mood the give him a decent farewell which Greg stated (in the infamous leaked mail) "Ganguly has earned for himself". This is perhaps the irony of the situation. Let's see what happens to now pauper Prince of Calcutta.

No concessions for Ganguly they why concession to Mr. Chappel?
by Shriprakashsingh on Jan 11, 2006 11:08 AM

This is rediculous! Mr. Pawar, head of BCCI, the recent developments does not augur well for Indian Cricket! What are you doing there as head of BCCI?

Why is it even after, selection committee selects Ganguly on merit, then he performs solidly in the domestic match (for which he was aksed to stay behind to have good practise and he did is fantastically)then Why Mr. Chappel or Mr. Dungarpur are making this nonsense statements about Ganguly's indescipline in the past or about why Ganguly should not be expecting any concessions just because he is a past Indian captain?
Mr. Pawar, it smells real bad politics! And you seem to be playing a hand in glove with it behind the screen! Otherwise why does it happen that all the key officials are behind reigning in Ganguly for no provocation from Ganguly----and still they are not repriminded for what they are doing?

This may be good for short term for you, Chappel, Dungarpurs and Mr. More but not for Indian cricket. Better you intervene ask even the team management to better shut their mouth and don't play pressure tectics only with players like Ganguly as if they are your servants!
Good luck--Hope you are listening!

Inclusion in playing 11 on merit and need of the day
by UMASUTARAO C on Jan 11, 2006 10:16 AM

Yes. Chaeppel is Right. There should be NO politicks in selection of playing eleven and it should be on need of the day.

His loss of batting form affected his leadership, prompting a change of guard as well as his axing, after India had earlier in the season lost their first home series to Australia in 35 years. In the drawn three-Test series against Pakistan at home, Ganguly scored just 48 runs at an average of 9.60. In four of the six one-day series matches that he played before being banned for slow over rates, he contributed just 31 runs at an average of 7.75.Inspiring leadership by Inzamam-ul-Haq helped Pakistan to recover from 0-2 down to record four straight victories and win the one-day series 4-2.There are fears that the Ganguly issue could prove a distraction for the Indian team, who are also going into the series after a successful run.."
He is a great risk to his partners who tend to get run out due to the lazy approach of Ganguly. His fielding abilities are not worth mentioning.
GOOD LUCK TO TEAM INDIA.

Doing more harm than good!
by M S Pradeep Kumar on Jan 10, 2006 11:56 PM

Why is Chappel making things complicated?

I dont think I have something like this happen in the cricketing history and I dont see any reason why this should happen.

I think the australian has to change his ways with Ganguly.

Success is important, but when there is success with a lot of problems in the ring the success is not going to long.
