India's indecisiveness
by Rakesh on Jan 09, 2006 03:10 PM

Quite frankly, I'm bewildered at this report as only days ago we've been told that the PM has REJECTED Musharraf's invitation to cricket diplomacy in Pakistan. Now, I don't know if this is contradiction of statement in media, the foreign office or the PM's office. But whatever be the case, this again cracks open India biggest problem: India's indecisiveness, lack of a centralized policy and lack of unity or coherrent statement amongst different institutions. Such a flaw has been going against India time and again, as we have seen Indian ministers most of the time contraicting each other as opposed to a unified attack from Pakistan where they always seem to be well informed and singing in the same tune.
Imagine now the position India would be in if, god forbid, the PM indeed decideds to accept the invitation and visits Pakistan to watch a cricket match with Musharraf. This clearly will be seen by the International community as India giving in to pressure from Pakistan and a clear victory of Pakistani propaganda even if nothing is achieved in the talks.
