well subject says it all you have done a great work and i believe this work should be shown to our offical statician (indian) Well one more i have found that is we felt india is a better Bating side and pakistan a better bowling side but the figures shows vice versa even if india had only one captain (S.Ganguly, R.D and V.S.) then record would have been better for Indian Caps.
I don't know what problem some nuts face. if we lose, they curse us. if we win, they say we won against small team. Nuts u don't have any guts to do somethin for the country. this game has taken our country to a level which even IT could have not taken. & u can't expect a 100% every time u r on the ground. so instead of cursing the team, appreciate their efforts. even if they lose, they'll learn from their mistakes. cricket fans in australia don't curse their players if they start losing matches. it is only us who always cry, we always wanna win. KIDS, grow up & learn that from losing u find a way out how to WIN. so stop crying & start cheering the team. TEAM INDIA: Wish you all the best for all your tours in 2006. GIVE UR BEST
The stats don't reflect the reality. India played against minnows last year, while Australia played against countries like England and South africa. So, these are two uncomparable stats. It's obvious that the person behind this article followed his heart more than his brain.
If India had played 8 matches in 2005 calendar yr then Rahul Dravid and Virendar Shewag can't have 8 matches each in their account as both were sick for one test match each against Sri Lanka and in that match they didn't play. So, please I am requesting you to check your stats again. Thanks a Lot

No, the stats are correct because both Dravid and Shewag played in the ICC Super Test.
Good satistics and an excellent effort. Howevever, you also need to realizse that india played against a lot of weaker opponents in 2005. Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are not quite in that category yet. 2006 will be a real challenge for India.
RE:India the most successful test team in 2005

Hi Jaspal,
First you have to understand that the heading was "Statistics for the year 2005 tests" not to determine which was best team of 2005.
The stats dint say that India were better than Australia but just said that India had better winning % for the year, which was title for that particular stats.
If the statistical data presented by Mr Rajneesh Gupta is an indicator that India is the best Test team, then the persons who made such judgement should be barred from any sort of connection with cricket. What the stats don't show is that India played the tests against the so called minnows and that is absolutely no indicator of Indian Test team's greatness. My only suggestion is that these sort of conclusions should only be drawn by persons who view the game with unbiased mind and heart. The conclusion seems to me more like watching any of India's matches of late with inept commentators making their foolish utterly biased comments.
