Its nice to see Ganguly back.

Many great players in the past have undergone this.
Even Steve Waugh had to undergo a similar kind of a situation. He once said, he should be the man to decide when he should retire and not others. I think Ganguly should take a hint from this and let his bat do the talking. And i am sure he will...

Ganguly-The Hero

Hey Dada,

Play your own game and earn some money. It is the only way you can survive.i am sure that you cannot return to the indian team. We don't know what made Chappel to react in this manner. It may be because of your approach to the practise sessions. But you played as a hero for some time.Hats off to your efforts.
all the best..

He is good player. I think starting point to hint the ball than selector will be seen his ability. Give one sires for plying.

It's a fact that Indian Team is having a whole lot talented youngsters..who are delievering. But the way Saurabh's inclusion & exclusion is dealt with is not fair given the fact that India's position in world cricket is largely his leadership.
You need to give chance to youngsters but not like way Kaif has done unjustice to likes of Suresh Raina..
Coming back to Ganguly's case..when the going gets bad..every thing gets bad.. He supported chappels appointment as coach keeping in mind India's future.. backfired.. More-Chandrashekar.. bad.. in the list nothing is in Saurabh's favour. He should and he will never quit, whatever be the results..atleast we will remember as a men who never gave up.

Ganguly

There is night after every day. There is death after birth. If there was no death then, there would have been no space for our own progeny. Buddy come to terms with it. The more you deny, the more it hurts. Retire now with grace when people still remember you. If you retire after being continously dropped, nobody will care.
There is more to life than just fame. Enjoy your life with your family and your parents. You already earned your name and fame. now let others do the same.
Goodluck for your future.

Good Decision
by BHARAT SATISH TALWAR on Feb 27, 2006 05:09 PM

Pleased to read that Ganguly at last has decided to play in the Deodhr Tropy at Gwalior. This is good decision. Being a lover of the game he should not have quit the first match against South Zone. Although there are remote chances for his inclusion in the INdian team because of a very tough competition from the youngsters who have come with a bang to prove themselves, Ganguly who is not able to compete with them at least should serve his zone to enable them to win various tournaments and encourage & Guide the younger team of his zone so that they may be able to come to the national standard and thus win laurels on behalf of Sourav. Saurabh Best of luck in your new venture.

Ganguly's playing at Gwalior

This flip-flop decision by Ganguly is sickening!Didnt he drop out because he was upset on being dropped for the Nagpur Test. And now he has reversed it because he still thinks (or advised by others) that he should let his bat do the talking !!!When will he realise that his time is up and better walk away into the sunset with dignity rather than torture himself and all of us around.Even now it is not too late to quit while his PAST performances still have their sheen , or else they will also lose their shine as time goes along.
It is really wrong for Gavaskar to advise him otherwise, purely linking to his age of 33- what about recent performance???

Pls stop bashing Ganguly. He played well in the innings in Pakistan. He was getting bat to ball after a long time.A few more innings at the highest level and I`m sure he would start getting big scores again.Even Sachin is consistently underperforming these days,so is Jayasuriya. Why single out Ganguly alone? In a few years time Dravid too will be in the same boat.Wait and see.

I think if you were the coach, india would have quit playing cricket decades ago. Its not important to look at past performances to decide to continue. Its important to learn from past mistakes and learn to rectify them. Ganguly is doing exactly that. If he quits now, it won't be in anyway graceful. I would call him a sore looser if he did. He came to play cricket with passion and thats what he should do. Whether he gets selected or not should not be his concern. He should keep trying till he reachs his limits of capacity not limits of pride. Please don\\\'t advocate such looser talk to lower someone\\\'s morale for even he could have read what you just posted.

Hi Sashi,

Ganguli is already out of National team because of (?? - whatever!). If you think that is what he deserved, why do you even bother if he is flip-flopping or else? Who your other so-called big-shots have had to show their fitness as Ganguly?

Your close attention to his daily chores show that you have respect for him. Don't you?

Healthy decision !

Playing will help the talented left hander to remain focussed and motivated. The gifted all rounder has a duty to do justice to the talents he is endowed with. Even when he is down, the boy keeps on moving and bringing joy and hope to many. He continues to inspire come what may. May God bless this wonderful and unique creation of our time.

Happy to note that you are going to play for east zone. Do well and help them to win the deodhar trophy. Be patience and your time will definitely come.
