Role of Coach
by All Rounder on Mar 07, 2006 10:15 AM

Any comparison between Woolmer and Greg Chappell is purely subjective. Indian fielding was excellent and the boys did a great job by responding to Greg Chappell's input. However, to say that Woolmer is not upto the mark is unjustified. What can Woolmer do to improve slow movers like Inzamam, Yousuf, Razzak, Naved??? You simply cant put energy and enthusiasm in these blokes. Indian fielding was something like Pakistan's with Laxman, Ganguly, Kumble, Nehra around. In summary, A coach can be as good as the players he has at his disposal. I bet, even Greg Chappell cannot do anything if we have a bunch of lazy players on the field.

Hey Moin

Dont write what user wants to read, dont elaborate someone with just one match or one series, they have dominate their life for the game and they are really good, I'll listen you carefully if you himself were played 25% successfull innings. But the people you are commenting are far better then you, so please shut your mouth and stop writing on legends like Sachin, Inzy, boolmer etc.

I don't understand how they let people like Moin Khan write on rediff columns, for that matter, he should be banned from writing anywhere...I still cannot forget his stupid article on Sachin poor form,etc,etc....He must have eaten his words after Sachins performance in the recent one-dayers w/Pakistan. Guys like Moin and Rameez Raja should be banned from writing or speaking about cricket. It's an insult to the game :-)

This Guy has no idea what he is talking.
he should stop giving comments on Cricketers. he is better siting talking under some tree with a bunch of ppl who think he is a best player in ICC (if any do).
I did not even finish reading his article.

HI Moin,
I was following all your articles but this time you yourself look very confused about what went wrong with Pakistan in one-dayers,after such strong showing in the test series. The basic difference was the fielding and Dhonni ,the finsher. Keep your cool!

SOURAV SEN
Woolmer Vs Chappell
by SOURAV SEN on Feb 25, 2006 08:02 PM

I think Moin Khan is confused ! First he had mentioned that omission of Sourav Ganguly was a mistake , now after the series win he says 'probably the communication of Chappell was better due to Sourav's absence'! Then I must say Chappell and Dravid are poor communicators anyway . The basic problem is they are scared of his imposing presence and hence they have closed their mind. This is the first series win after Dravid has taken over outside India that too w/o Shoaib etc. They drew with SA and defeated a terribly out of form SriLanka. Clinical efficiency can bring incremental results with India and Pak. You need strong inspirational leadership.
