Good Thinking, Mr. More
by Sam on Feb 24, 2006 07:27 PM

"When in Pakistan, we had bowling meetings among the captain, the coach and myself everyday. And I think it worked well. The fast bowlers did a fantastic job in the series," exlaims our Chief Selector.

But the irony is two among them, who did a FANTASTIC JOB in the series are no longer a part of the indian fast bowling department. Are they not capeable enough? Like many of the Indian fans, I also doesnt think so. We all agree that Greg is doing a great job as the Caoch of Team India. But that shouldnt stop BCCI from taking some innovative steps like an exclusive Bowling Coach. Being the worlds richest sporting authority it is not the matter of affordability for BCCI, its just the matter of Policy. By avoiding this they are not doing justice to our fast bowlers who works hard for Team India in every match. By appointing a good Bowling Coach we will be giving a chance for somebody like Imran / Waqar / Wasim / Bruce Reed / Walsh etc to contribute more to the game of Cricket and Team India will be benefiting from that.

I strongly feel it will be wise to have a Bowling Coach and Greg will have a helping hand to off load some of his work.

Bad Attitude of Mr More
by Yogesh Shet on Feb 24, 2006 10:38 AM

How can Mr More being the responsible person on the chair can make such a statement that bowling coach not needed. He makes a point that present group is performing well.

If he says so then what is the need of Coach for Indian team as entire team is performing well. We would be out of time if we are not serious about bowling coach and fielding coach.

Mr. More dont become spokeman of Chappel
by debjaniaqua on Feb 24, 2006 08:27 AM

Mr. More has got another portfolio. Now he seems to become spokeman of Greg Chappel. We have got bunch of fasr bowlers, but we dont have any great bowler. The same is also in spin, without Kumble there is no one. What stops us in shaping our bowler into great. Only relying on batsman in the fast track of West Indis will not win us World Cup

Bowling coach......
by Pramit Palit on Feb 23, 2006 03:35 PM

A bowling coach is indeed required.Kiran More is so busy politicking that he has little time to spare for thoughts on cricket. Moreover it requires brains to think. And the Chief Selector has little of it.

A bowling coach can fine tune the bowlers. He can solve problems regarding their actions, speed etc.Greg may be focussing on all aspects but some minute ones relating to bowlers might escape his attention.

Nations like Australia and England have been contemplating on a bowling coach for quite some time now.Why can't we have one ? But then somebody please make sure that he does not behave like a king and dictator like Greg !
