graphite reinforced bats

It takes more than just a cricket bat to get runs in cricket. Just wondering if we would be having the same attitude if Sachin or Dravid was making use of a similiar bat....

If ponting's centuries should be deleted, all of india's victories under azhar's captainship should also be deleted. Fair?

Ponting was using illegal bat.
Team India did not. So your point falls flat.

Why are Australians treated special ???
by Biku Mhatre on Feb 18, 2006 03:31 AM

What about the world cup hundred which deprieved the Indians of the world cup.
Had it been others that used the bats more than the Australians, then the Australians fans would have been on their toes sledging the players. They use illegal bats, they get caught with steroids on field, they swear at the opponent's coach for getting run out and still, no body sledges them. Irony !!!

kookaburra bats
by jaagadish on Feb 17, 2006 11:04 PM

hi guys
why all a hue and cry made about this type of bats
if in the lawntennis graphite racquets wielded by boris and others gave the edge over the others then the ponting new bat also can accepted as a technological advancement

Illigal Bat !! Iligal runs!!
by Mmm on Feb 17, 2006 07:13 PM

All the runs score by Ponting after the fact was known last year should be deleted.

If a bowler with illigal actions are not allowed to bowl till they are cleared. Why did ICC allowed Ponting to continue to use the bat for the whole of last year? Was it because he is an Aussie?

Well, if the bat is illegal, then what about the recent centuries that Ponting made - should they not be invalid as well?? He has made runs using illegal means.

New Kookaburra bats

With these bats having being called illlegal it would be only fair to delete all the scores from players who had scored runs out of it as they were aware that it was giving them undue advantage of power when these bats were used. They are to blame as they should have first of all got permission from the ICC if they are legal. What was ICC doing when these players were using them.Long time ago there was a guy and I think it was Denis Lillie who walked in to bat with an aluminium bat and he was not permited. Why did the umpires permit the new Kookaburra?
A public interest petition ought to be filed some where soonest.
