Selfish Sachin and other demons
by ajay on Feb 06, 2006 09:56 PM

Another defeat...it was evident that Sachin played selfishly today because for someone of his experience it should have been obvious that the rate at which he was making runs wasnt gonna be sufficient...he knows the Afridis, yousufs only too well...or so i suppose. When was the last time Zaheer Khan began his bowling spell in an assuring manner?keeping a tight line and giving fewer runs than is his wont? What was Dravid doing when Sreesanth had lost his confidence and was coming in very waywardly and spraying the ball all over the place? Whose idea was it to pick Karthik for this tour? what was he gonna do where kuble and bhajan fell to the wayside? and please tell me for the sake of everything that is wonderful why was he sob..sob..why was he bowling outside the leg stump and conceding wides as if that was going out of fashion? kaif's enthusiasm in the field and his total committment to the team is a joy to behold.why wasnt he picked for tests?we need people with guts and character as much as we need people with so called abilities.for me kaif is eminently suitable for captaincy.lastly...sehwag's fielding has hit rockbottom and he doesnt give a damn.he needs a bit of a shake-up.

tendulkar has given critics an answer with his MRF bat .
by chandraprakash on Feb 06, 2006 09:36 PM

All the critics out there think twice .

Tendulkar is a player who does'nt bark like a dog .
But walks away like a royal tiger . He need not give answer to the barking dogs

Tendulkar is selfish
by saif on Feb 06, 2006 09:30 PM

Tendulkar batted selfishly for his century and dint care for the run rate at all..it was only cozz of Dhoni Pathan and Yuvraj that indians were able to reach a reach a total of 300 +... also now every tendulkar fan will praise tendulkar for this selfish effort.. and will not notice his failures in the future matches...when was the last time tendulkar made a century in pressure while chasing a total or when India were down for 15 for 4..then he will also get bowled and walk back...give him a batting pitch..where India is batting first and there is no pressure...and then comes tendulkar back with his selfish centuries, to be frank Tendulkar hits centuries only when they are not needed...when they are needed from him he will make 5 runs and get bowled,,and we call him the best bastman in the world...he shud infact be called the most selfish batsman in the world...his average is 45 + but in matches where India has won his average is mere 28...and we call him the match winner...selfish is the word for him...

Sachin's Innings and its quality
by Karthik on Feb 06, 2006 09:06 PM

Hi
I cant imagine how many people look up the match scorecard and pull up arguements without even watching the match.
I followed the game live ball by ball, and he definitely did NOT slow down near his 100(he didnt accelerate either, which is still a grave error).
But a BIG mistake by him,was to play slow EARLY in his innings.
At a stage,Pathan had made his 65 odd and gone, and Dhoni had tonked the ball around and almost caught up with Sachin. In a little over half the balls Sachin faced.
Only then did Tendulkar mildly start attacking.By the time he played the innings in full throttle,he had played 45 balls. And scored 21 of those. This at a stage when Pathan and Dhoni were able to tonk the ball around for run a ball plus. This at a stage with Dravid Yuvraj Kaif still in the balcony.
Tendulkar fundamentally builds slack into ANY ODI innings of his.It is easily seen that ANYONE who stays long can make a big score. At the cost of efficiency, and risking defeat since the other team can ANYWAY score faster(than the inefficient rate).
This has to be combined with the last 5 overs for 23 runs.BOTH of these are the lessons of this defeat.
Sachin STILL has a lot to think about.

look at salman butt at 95 he hit a stroke full four and see shoib malik at 90 he threw his wicked shame sachin from 88 he decieded to play slow therefore dravid and yuviraj went for big shots and got out india feel short of 25 runs its because of sachin wanting his 39th hundred come on sachin play for india not own records
