If inzamam is saying that India is very unsporting in making an appeal against obstructing the field, what did pakistan do in the third test, second innings in kolkatta when crowd rage had put off the whole test back for almost 3 hours. Sachin Tendulkar, who seemed like winning the match for India, got the bat down in crease in time and then in order to avoid a strangle with shoaib akhtar just put his bat up and coincidently or rather accidently the ball just hit the stumps at the same moment. I still have the replay printed on my mind. Wasim Akram, the then pakistan captain on the tour was the first one to make an appeal with shoaib akhtar and the whole of pakistan team appealed, all inclusive of good old inzamam ul haq. What in the hell was that? Wasn't that unsporty, or was it that a test match was at stake? Then Mr. and My dear Inzamam, even our one dayer was also at stake. WHAT YOU SOW, SO SHALL YOU REAP.
That was really unsporting by the indian team and a show of desperation. The ball was thrown at him he was outside the crease but he was just trying to not get hit. Real bad shouldnt have appealed then.
There was one more incident of batsman getting out for ball handling. Steve waugh got out in this manner during the Australian tour to India. He pushed the ball away by his hand which was going to hit the stumps.
There was one more player was given out as Handling Ball, Steve Waugh. He was adjudged as Handling Ball Victim and given out during Australia's tour to India, when defensively palyed ball went upword and was coming towards the stump was obstructed/stopped by him.
would just like to reminf Rajneesh that there was another instance of handling the ball. As far as i can remember it was Kapil who had bowled against the West Indies and the batsman was either Haynes or Greenidge. It was the 1983-84 series at home.
