Chappell's comemnts may have been a violation if ICC code of conduct, but it is a truth that shoaib's bowling action is suspect. While delivering the ball, the bending of the elbow is very clear, for all to see. The bending it too significant, to ignore
He clearly throws the fast balls - no question about that; no one has guts to state that - Anyone who would claim that Murali is throwing, then Shoaib too throws. Only reason he is let go, is because Aus doesnt want Brett Lee researched either.
shoaib's actions is certainly doubtfull, though its a case of hyperextension. He should be asked to bowl uncovering his elbow.Today we have the technology to find out the truth. In front of the ICC panel he may not do anything wrong. he should be inspected while bowling those 150K deliveries. Bcoz of hyperextension its said that he is bowling making an angle more than 180 degrees. but is that really the case ?. Its really difficult to find whether the angle is 190 or 150. He should be watched while bowling live in the matches. The truth must come out. He was cleared to play in 2001 by ICC, but was he able to bowl more than 150Kms in front of them?
I fully agree with Chappell. While watching the match on television, I did notice that certain deliveries from Shoaib were in fact thrown and not bowled. The recordings must be available and it is should be easy for anyone to notice that there is something seriously wrong. I feel that there is nothing wrong with Shoaib's bowling action per se, but something seriously wrong with his attitude. This is because he chooses when to throw and when to bowl. I think Chappell must take the correct course and report to the ICC for suspect bowling action with proof.
