Unchanged the last combination
by yagneshwar dixit on Dec 26, 2006 10:43 AM  | Hide replies

Once more, stupid / sensless decision of immature Mr. Dravid & So called Gr. Guru. How long you allow Jaffer & Sehwag to play the Cricket, send them back along with Mr. Pathan back to India.

I feel, Jaffer has blessing of Mr. Great Sharad Power & Mr. Grt Kiran More, Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar is helpless.

Winning Combination

I agree with the opinion on selection of Wasim Jaffer. However, I would also like to add that Ganguly should get dropped based on his last 10 innings performance.Scoring a half century cannot be a criterion for selecting a player who does not fit in the scheme of things.

unchanged side 'Batsmen are a pampered lot' Ganguly flops for Northants
by deb on Dec 26, 2006 06:09 AM

If India wants to keep their side unchanged just because it won the last test it would be superstitious and stupid. One should always look for improving, instead of ignoring the faults when winning. This is an old-school theory and India should try to learn these things from Australia.

Scrap BCCI first

India won the test because of Sreesant, Zaheer, Kumble, Ganguly and Laxman. There was small contribution from Sachin and Dravid. VRV should be replaced by Patel. Sehwag and Jaffer must be dropped. If they dont want disturb the winning combination, then field only 9 players without the openers who are going to fail again definitely.

Foolish

It is foolish to say one thing and do the other thing. I don't know why Jaffer should be given chance to play -- He should have been given the same treatment as that given to Patha, Both these boys being talented will bounce back. So the selectors should have given a chance to GG. Do not demoralize good players by not giving them a chance.
We should not sway this much from total experimentation policy to no-change policy. It is a shame on the collective intelligence of our country.
(I know cricket is such that WJ may shine well in the next match and may make me eat my words. I hope that happens)

P R Nayak
Team for II Test
by P R Nayak on Dec 25, 2006 10:35 PM

As long as Vengsarkar leads the selection penal he will not allow to drop Wasim Jaffer his fellow Maharshtrian from the Team. Let Jaffer score more zeros but his double hundred against Windies will give him several more chances to play test cricket. That is India and Indian politicised Criket board!
