See i may not be an expert compared to the person who made this comment,but neigther Lara nor Ponting changed the fortunes of their coubtry like Tendulkar, Fine he is running through a rough patch but that is only due to numbers, Tendulkar is born on 24 ,the total of which is 6, all people having 6 as their number will have very bad time when the year total comes to 8 ie 2006, and moreover talking about greatness of cricketers, have ponting or lara picked wickets in international cricket , if yes how many?Tendulkar is and will remain the best cricketer ever,Ponting can always play pressure free because he has got a good team, Lara can play pressure free, because his team is hopeless and nothing to lose,whereas every innings of Tendulkar is closely monitored by a billion people,and cricket is a religion in India,which means all the more pressure,Lara is a selfish man,which is prooved in his knock of 400, he put self ahead of team.
One can tell only after their respective careers have ended,I think ponting is the best because hcould reign australia in the top spot for the longest period in cricket history with his performaces,whereas laras performances have not been able to take west Indian cricket forward with top class batsmen lkeGayle Chanderpaul,Sarwan and the rest..
I do agree.Lara is undoubtedly more better than Sachin.The way he played long innings on many occassions shows greater charector and potential in the man.When Lara started playing, the West Indian team was on down sliding graph.It was Lara who single handedly played many great innings and Sachin never played great innings for Team India though his personal land marks are greter than Lara.Sachin in last 2/3 years is just passenger in the team holding his place just on past records.Now a days he plays once in a blue moon.He place in the team is like Queen Elizebeth.No one can touch no one can speak. On the other hand it is Lara whi is holding the west indian team with his good captaincy and individual knocks.
So it takes a former Pakistani player to rate Lara over Sachin. This is funny.
It's like this who is the overall boxing Champion? Ans - Tyson. Who can beat tyson - almost anyone now. Sachin is plagued by injuries. But if you compare Sachin in his top form he is better than Lara especially in the ODI's. Moreover Sachin plays for the team whereas Lara for records.
yes i totally agree lara is far more ahead then any batsmen in the world as its the situation and consistency that matters any good batsmen can score against weaker teams but lara had made runs at crucial moments against best of bowling line up the world .....he is far far ahead then sachin or pointing
1. Who cares about Basit Ali? 2. I am fed up of headlines who is the best: Lara, Sachin, Ponting, Dravid, Yousuf, Richards, Gavaskar, Sobers, and if everything fails, bring in Don Bradman. Get a life.
