Shane Warne's Retirement.
by Noel Phillips on Dec 23, 2006 04:50 PM

Yes, Definately - The World Cricket shall be a lot more Poorer without him -Professionally & Personally.
A Spinner in the Tru Sense - A Great Thinker Professionally - Psyching the Batsmen OUT ( English men his most Dumb Bunnies.)- Turning the Ball to almost 80 Degrees without Parallel thus Mesmerising the Batsmen - Consistancy to a point of 0.99 - Over after over - Willing the Captian to give him the Ball-Thus willing a Wicket -Specially to Break a stubborn Stand when the other famed bowlers could'nt. As a Person on the Field always a smile -To the point of bewitching the Batsmen into , Uncertinty, Subjugation and annahilation.Always having a word of Praise to the deserving Opponent.
Yes on his most Personal Front Let us respect his Privacy - FOR : Let the Man Cast his Stone on Shane , who himself is Pure in Mind, Heart & Spirit.Deep Down most of us would have Gladly enjiyed his escapades. There are Millions & Millions in this worlds and mostly those who point fingers at him who may be guilty of the same acts -If not Phsycaly Definately Mentally.Yet its only when you are cought in the act that yiu are defined. Then SHANE is always under the Scanner. After all HE is HUMAN too.

Truly End Of an Era
by T.Satish on Dec 23, 2006 11:58 AM

Every cricket fan would agree that with warne's retirement from test cricket,it would end one of the the golden chapter in australia's cricketing history. Some players take so much of passion n responsibility in playing the game that sometimes we feel whether they r made for the game or vice versa.Bowlers like walsh, ambrose, hadlee, akram, kumble n murali are all the members of an elite group and they have all set their own standards and dont need anything to prove to the world.Warne had a great contribution in success of the kangaroos as a test playing nation n in its success rate.Take out him n the pigeon n the bowling seems to fell apart. The best part of them is their consistency n ability to pick up wickets almost on any track. With both retiring soon the vacancy cannot be filled with. But warne would have regrets that his character as an individual was always under a question mark with controversies of doping, match fixing, etc. The fact that his record was dismal against india also would haunt him.Still as a bowler not to doubt his abilities n the way he dismissed gatting we knew he was coming. The leg spinner is making an exit n lets hope the offspinner stays long n reaches 1000 mark.

true but a bit over confident
by perl57 on Dec 22, 2006 05:07 PM

author here is a bit over-confident about an australian cricket team without McGrath and Warne. Australian cricket team in tests with Warne is like a side which has been depleted by 30% and without McGrath it will be 50% in all. Biggest example is India's tour to Oz in 2004. No McGrath and Warne was never close to being a threat to Indians. Ponting is 33 and Gilly is 33 and matt hayden, langer and all. Just one match performance will not make Johnson any good coz he did not follow it up at mohali. McGill can be 50% as effective as Warne and that is enough for most teams in the world. Australia's biggest problem is addressing issues such as batting, bowling and fielding. After Ponting all are good fielders but not eccentric. So there goes fielding. Bowling is hopeless without those two. Batting, if they visit sub-continent now, they will be thoroughly dusted out as 2004 trip to India was the worst of India's all tours against Oz. Get some batsmen like Hussey to perform against all teams and at present, he looks a bunny for RH off spin bowling. Finally, His greatness legendry Shane Warne redifined the art of legspin bowling. Hats off to you mite. We miss you.

End of an era

He is a legend. First time I see a ball spinning from outside the leg stump to off stump. Our kumble and all just bowling without any turn.He is the leg break and leg spinner. Abdul qadir,Mustaq Ahmed in that rank shane warne comes. Whatever his personal life he is the best thing happened to cricket. God bless him.

Dignified Retirement
by DLN. Sastry on Dec 22, 2006 01:23 PM

What Warne is doing is, an hourable way of bidding adieu to his beloved occupation, when he is still in demand and is calling the shots. This is an admirable practice devotedly adhered to, by the Kangaroos, Poms, Kiwis and proteas. In the subcontinent one finds very few such lofty examples to quote. How fervently do the Indian fans wish their aging heroes whose talents have decidedly taken the downward path, emulate the example of Warne!!!
