Frankly what sreesanth did was just a gesture to Nel indicating his disgust on some verbal comments by Nel.Our players try to shy away from verbal dual just because thy hardly get a chance to pressurise any opposition team.Sreesanth did what he felt at the spur of moment and ICC's action could have been a verbal warning instead of match fee deduction.
But naturally the 3rd empire is srilankan and we asians always try to put up a front that we are the most peace loving players in the world.Call it meekness, scare or whatever but all white players do bully asians inspite of the fact that we are no less.

At which of these levels-national or international-has the gentleman represented India in any sports? Having been a sportsman all my life and an international level sportsman at that-I understand the pressures of the game and especially how uncomfortable it is when the white players pass unbearable comments. I can very well empathise with the young lad. I think he had the courage to hit back in a non-combative way and by doing so he not only scored a point on his personal level but also on the part of his team. Armchair players and commentators like Mr. Abdul can visualise all kinds of problems with his behaviour, but I would like to request him to go out and ask a few Indian internationals of any discipline and see if he doesn't get the same views that I offered.

Dear Sirs,

Steesath is a young boy who is yet to learn the rudiment of the ethics & civis of the life. There is no sense in talking about his behaviour or attitude during the test match. I believe that he has behaved strange because of his exitment. We eleders have the responeibility to make the youngsters like Sreekanth understand in a proper manner so that they will correct themself.

Perhaps, if we go back to the history of the visual media of criket, we would find much more funny actions and reactions and behaviour of the so called criket legends!

Let us not make the budding criketers a scapegoat for the benifit of some one/somebody/somewhere !

Sreesanth's Unacceptable behaviour
by P R Sampath on Jan 04, 2007 09:57 PM

Sreesanth must behave properly in the field.Senior player must talk to him to correct his unacceptable behaviour and sledging.Otherwise he must be dropped from the team.If senior players or captain or even the coach dont talk then reduction in match fee must be imposed on them. The behaviour of Sreesanth shows his imaturity and his attitude on high headness. The disciplinary committe of BCCI must take stern action against him otherwise drop him the team.

Nel is a disorganised crickter.
A bowlers job is to bowl to the batsman and not to talk to him.
Nel is frequently distracting the batsman for passing some uncomfortable comments to the batsman.
Sreesanth gave him a fitting reply in the first test.
Keep it up Sreesanth.

Well Done Sreesanth. A fitting reply to Andre Nel who is well known for showing aggression. India Team Management should support Sreesanth if any action ...
