Tendulkar should be sent back or consider retirement
by shyam on Jan 06, 2007 01:02 PM

The way Tendulkar has been playing of late indicates a decline in his batting. His reflexes and footwork are on the decline, which does not augur well for the future. He repeatedly lets the team down in crucial matches, instead of rising to the occasion expected of a senior player of his calibre. Like Pathan & Ganguly, he too should concentrate on getting back his form by playing domestic cricket or quit gracefully from cricket and pave way for youngsters.

Right decision to send back Pathan
by Francis Louis on Jan 03, 2007 04:30 PM

The decision to send back Irfan Pathan seems to be a fantastic decision on the face value, since he was not performing well.

But the BCCI should be consistant on taking this kind of decision. It should not happen that if big guns fail continuesly and still they find a place in the team.

When players like Sourav & Laxman could be asked to prove their worth by playing domestic cricket, why not Irfan or Sehwag ?

Send non-performing players back ??
by Deepak Mukhija on Jan 03, 2007 01:43 PM

The first cry from any Indian's heart would be to call back non-performing players and give a chance to new talent and potential players sitting on the sidelines.

But a rational look at things quickly changes this thought. Its a world know fact that nobody is as passionate about their cricket than Indians and when the team fails to come at par with the ever rising and sky high expectation of the BLUE BILLION, swords are drawn in a flash thirsty for blood.

The truth is, its not the lack of talent, neither is it the lack services or money but it is the lack of pride and honour. There are few in the team who give their everything, everytime they are on the field and then there are others, who dont care what the result is, as long as they get their fees and fair share of ad revenue.

When it comes to representing the tri-colored flag at an international level, it demands nothing but the best. If someone has been given the opportunity to represent India and is not able to perform over a period of time, it is without doubt necessary to send them back and let them get back to basics.

There is enough talent in the country to replace the current playing 11. SO DO IT & WIN !!

BCCI doing good
by Narendra on Jan 03, 2007 09:42 AM

That was a great move to improve team work. But sending back should be depend on the average of atleast 3 or 5 matches. and 2 or 3 of them should be above average.

I think this will improve the performance of each player and improves team work too.

Non-Performers
by Roby John on Dec 30, 2006 01:19 PM

Why was'nt Sehwag recalled? He is the One person Who has such a big responsibility to give us good start, but due to his stubboness he has made us fail each and everytime. Why are we bearing him and giving him chance after chance just to up his confidence and yet other do not get more than 2 chances? Why is there a different set of rules for Sehwag and for rest of the team?? Who is responsible for this? Ought to use my Right to information act to get this out from Selectors and Team Management!!!

non performance
by meer azher ali on Dec 29, 2006 08:11 PM

Yes this type of steps should have taken very long back.any way late better than never. Now it is the turn Sehwag. He should be packed immidiately without waste of time. Let him do advertising business in India instead playing cricket for country.

Player who donot perform well should be called back.
by Niranjan on Dec 29, 2006 05:39 PM

Yes,
BCCI should call back players who are not in form & under-performing.
They should call back Virendra Sewhag who is not in form & is worst than a bowler.
