what is it with mumbai always? ipl finals and now this world cup final.what does it have ?.the city where the 26/11 took place and all the players were worried about the security and they intently kept the ipl final in mumbai and now world cup final.I would say that there should not be any international match to one year in mumbai in any of its ground.Isn't there any other ground in this large country which are much safer than mumbai.what is it with the southern side of the country to the cricket commitee?. there are also cities called chennai, mumbai, kolkata etc.

Why not India alone?
by Dr Ashok bhatia on Dec 12, 2006 07:56 AM

Why these ridiculous partnerships for world cup? In soccer usually one country hosts? Then why in cricket India has to take not so friendly nations with it?

It is doubtful because the politician turned Cricket Chief will vanish from limelight.

Hello Dear,
I am from Kolkata and I am proud to say that we are more man than you, becoz at least we have the guts to stop a match which I ndia should have won, but could'nt.We have more passion than anyone in India. When 1,00,000 people in Edn Gardens shout, then the whole of India gets trembles.Ask any great cricketers about their favourite stadium I am sure that Eden Garden would be one of their fav, not a small stadium like Wankhede.

It is obvious that Calcutta has not been given a match, inspite of having one of the best Stadiums in the country.
And the match goes to whom,Mumbai, whose pitches were criticized by all teams playing in the ICC Champions trophy.
The reason,of course, being the great Sharad Pawar.
Wish rediff could write about such stuff, but sometimes its anti-bengali stance really makes me wonder....dude!

Haha now suddenly you blaming Sharad Pawar for the pitch ,one month ago he was made a martyr for being pushed off the stage, real funny.

Mumbai - Not a good choice
by Mudassir Ehsan on Dec 12, 2006 12:53 AM

They luckily avoided Calcutta and Bangalore but got stuck with Mumbai. It should have ideally been Chennai ! The most knowledgeable and well behaved audience in the country.

Regards,
Mudassir
