Murali runout - Not part of cricket
by gautam on Dec 14, 2006 10:34 PM

This is something that you can expect from Pakistan as they do not understand english and the rules of the game. (Please see the Steriods story from recent past).

looks like New Zealand is desperate to win games and get move up in the rankings. Australia does the same kind of crap in addition to the sledging and never gets any negative press.

there is definately a bias towards the Asian teams.

SL Muttaiah run out

SL test players should not become emotional on the field and they should follow the rules of the game as matured players.Once the rules are framed they should know it well and play accordingly. An opportunuity was presented to Kiwis which they took and won the match. He could have waited for the ball to reach back to wicket keeper and then proceed to congratulate the partner.

Muralitharan Stumping

I think the SLs are fuming over rubbish. Its not as if he was run out by a wrong decision. He was run out by a legitimate law provided in the book of laws. If they cant digest that then so be it. Spirit is irrelevant here. Every team has to win and if they get an opportunity to get a wicket because of the oppositions fault then they should grab it.

Murali run-out leaves SL fuming

Typical 'white' behaviour and these idiots in India do not even recognise that it is time to kick these fellows right where it hurts. Thanks to India and, to a lesser extent, the sub continent, cricket is still alive. Time Asia ganged up against the white cricketing world and gave them hell. Brian Jerling is the same umpire who refused Kumble's appeal against Kemp that turned the series. To add insult to injury he even declared a wide!

New Zealand was right

I think whatever Brendon McCullum did was within the moral and legal limits of the game.
A. The runout was legal. That's simple. The fielding side can argue that they couldn't decide wether the batsman set off for a 2nd run or to congratulate his partner.
B. By not waiting until the ball gets dead, Murali wasn't respecting the game and the opposition. It was he who was playing against the spirit of the game.

Your team spirit should not conflict with the spirit of the game.

Murlidharan run out
by Archie on Dec 09, 2006 01:01 PM

Its high time we stopped getting upset for lack of knowledge of the rules, this is a common affliction of all Asian teams in most sports. In hockey we complain of bad umpiring decisions due to this very same malaise of ignorance of the rules. Murlidharan ,whom i consider a genuine "Chucker",should have known better than get out in this ridiculous way, and to make matters worse the Lankan captain makes a exhibition of his teamates lack of cricketing sense, by protesting. Only thing for us to learn from this is that even gentlemen have to play by the rules, unlike Inzamam and now muriltharan.
