We indians are just a jealous lot.We cant appreciate the fact that there are Cricketers in world cricket who are by way far better than indian cricketers including Sachin tendulkar.Ricky Ponting and Brian Lara are not only good leaders But great players as well.

The whole thing about cricket in India and in the world in gerneral sucks. This is a sollosal waste of time and there are just too many useless games. At this rate a less than mediocre player like Poynting will surpass Bradman. I wish Poynting does not think he is truly great or something.
This game deserves much less than what it gets by way of media coverage.

Disagree with both amit and vijay. Amit, you are throwing your hard earned money for other worst shit such as Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai watching their garbage movies. What you spend on one ticket is worth 2 months of cable TV and cricket which is also an entertainment industry and something which will entertain you, if you are Indian enough, for at least 2 months. Ponting getting close to Bradman does not mean Ponting is bad. Let us not act the case of sour grapes. Let Ponting overtake, the white people will still write saying Ponting has conquered world. The fact is he was useless as a gentleman and worst at playing spin but extremely good at playing pace. Blessed with the support of McGrath and Warne and hence could become good captain. Cricket is only reason why our country could smile. So many have argued why other sports were not given due. The fact that other sports were more like splash in the frying pan like tennis and weightlifting, cricket has always produced some world class moments for us. Sachin is often forgotten when he was the only face in the entire 90s to save India from many blushes.If cricket is mahabharata then Sachin is Arjun;but chappel's no drona.

I agree completely. Not only media is showing off these ordinary folks as GODS, but because of that the various endorsement deals are causing the common man to pay for everyday life necessities. Unless we stop worshipping these people, we will keep on paying more than regular price for toothpaste and soap and thus throw our hard earned money.

Mr vijay why is ponting affecting you just because india is getting trashed and ponting and his men are reaching to a point of being the super best the aussies are disciplined and they deserve every credit they get ,for you its a matter of grapes gone sour.

dude...r u nuts to say Ponting is a mediocre batsman?...he is just a great player and an amazing captain who always leads by example....he always plays well on big occasions.....who can forget the WC final....i mean he just blasted his way to an unbelievable century....he is what i would call a "genuine match winner"....Hats off to you, Ricky Ponting!!!
ps...Vijay, his name is not Poynting, its Ponting..:-)
