At least we have an umpire that is calling a spade a spade. Murlidharan was rightly called off for throwing & pakistan is also involved in ball tampering, something that's not new.
In my opinion,ICC have all the powers to do anything and they have set some rules which have to be followed, and the umpires also are from the ELITE panel ,their decision on behalf of ICC should be respected. The umpires know the game very well and can assess the condition of the ball at any stage of the game,so there must be something wrong with the ball at that particular point.NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT A REASON.
I personally feel that Pak could have protected in a different manner. Not comming out to play for 45 mins was not the way to go. They were asking for trouble by doing that... and they got it.
In my opinion, umpire Darell Hair has been biased towards Pakistan. Awarding 5 penalty runs to Eng & allowing english batsmen to choose another ball on the pretext of ball tampering by pak isn't justified, unless there is videographic evidence of the pakistan players caught in the act. Even the umpires gave their verdict without even talking 2 pakistan. I think the forfeiture begins frm that incident & could well have been avoided, had the umpires followed the right procedure. The cricket ball can achieve such a condition. But the umpires clearly seem to be biased.
pakistan has a history with ball tampering but if they had to be fined it should have been fair- by checking the ball and showing to all the tv channels and the uipires giving the rason for the penalty hair may be controversial but he calls a spade a spade as many people still believe muralitharan is a chucker to some degree
