It was indeed a stupid decision to plan a series during the monsoon period, its good the series is called off, as it is there is an overdose of cricket now-a-days as every now and then on any of the idiot box channels cricket is shown most of the time. Once upon a time I was a cricket lover but now seeing the stupid change in the game I have started to hate cricket. Earlier the game was very much charming and interesting now the cricketers look like jokers in the colored clothes and hindi "phillum" "ishtyle" goggles, moreover their performance is now-a-days more on the screen than on the ground
Thank goodness this sham series has been put to end. With SA pulling out this series and weather forecast being for lots of rain why did they wait till so long to cancel this? If they really had to play then why did they not shift to another venue outside Colombo?
Perhaps meteorology dept in Srilanka is not on speaking terms with Srilankan cricket top brass,or the Board officials enjoy betting against clouds in the rainy season, otherwise they wont have scheduled the tri-series in this torrential rainy season. What they are upto?It is not the first time, happened in 1993 also when Indian team toured Lanka. What should be the sample size of errors that the Srilankan cricket officials can get along the learning curve to realize the appropriate timing of the tournaments?
I feel its real stupid to organise a series when the weather conditions are already known. How can organisers neglect this plain fact. Its a wastage of time and money. Why dont they look into the weather conditions before finalising the series
About time they stopped the sham Next time if they MUST play cricket Jun to September, send them to England or Australia or Even Canada! Leave Indian subcontinent out during Monsoons. Please convey this message to the cricket board!
