Its amusing that the Brits are going gaga about the newcomer Monty. He is talented no doubt, but has not yet entered in a league of great bowlers to be called "the best finger spinner" in the world.
It has been proven time and again that excessive hype leads to early demise of quite a few promising careers. Was it not the English soccer star Rooney who was being hailed as the next Superstar by the British media, not so long ago? The net result is for every body to see.
Perhaps Britain is so hungry for a national icon that any one who shows the slightest of promise raises the vision of the entire nation, searching for a hero.
