team selection

When SG was at the helm as Captain for 'Team India' from 2000 to 2005, SG supported all the players in the Team and fought fpr everyone of them against the Board. SG motived/supported them when they were in poor form and seen them to regain their form. Now, when SG is down with poor form, none of our players could come forward to support him. Is this kind of gratitude we Indians have? Is this kind of support we extend to a person who has done so much for everybody in the team? What kind of integration and unity are we talking about? everything now is based on pure politics and gimmicks. It's really very surprise to see both ST & RD keep their mouth tightly closed when it comes to SG issue. If they drop some supportive words for SG, will it do any harm in their cricket career/life? Will it reduce any of the money they will get? I really cant understand the logic and attitude of BCCI, GC, RD & our players. With these bunch of bits and pieces who were thrashed by WI recently, are we going to win Champions Trophy and WC'07???? Joke of the year 2006

What are you talking about ? Tendulkar does not even respond to his own critics, never have and never will. Never have he ever made any controversial comments in his 16 year long career. He likes to make his bat do the talking. Why would he then talk to the media about Ganguly ? Have there ever been another player is cricket history who have been a more of a 'gentleman' than Tendulkar ? I don't think so. Even a calm and cool guy like Dravid have occationally lost his temper and have replied harshly to the media.

Saurav's comeback
by Prasanta on Aug 09, 2006 02:37 PM  | Hide replies

It is evident that the trio C-M-D (Chappel-More-Dravid) don't want him in team. So WHY all these speculations about his comeback? Ganguly will not get a chance whether he performs well or not.

How can you say that ? Till now he haven't even performed. It's been about 4 years time since Ganguly have performed in any form of the game (international/county/ranji).

Personal Revenge
by Sreevalsan on Aug 09, 2006 02:08 PM

This is nothing but the personal revenge.Sourav has performed well in Pakistan but "Killer" More dosen't want him,so he is not selected, definetly it affected his confidence. But this wise man giving chances the guys like Venugopal Rao,those who doesn't have any commitment to his game."Killer"More, there should be an end of your turn at that time definetly you will regret.

selectors attention
by N.Baranikumar on Aug 09, 2006 02:07 PM

I request kiranmore and co to do justification for the players from tamilnadu, yes they have been given a chance sriram, badani, badrinath should be considered badani can be good allrounder and better fielder than mongia, when mongia is getting a lookin badani should be considered.

ganguly cannot be ignored
by SUDEEP BHATTACHARYA on Aug 09, 2006 11:48 AM

five wise selectors was the best cricketer in the world cricket. due respect to sachin/sewagh if they are not fit to play why they r in. because of more & co.- caps & coach. if sachin/sewagh are in then ganguly should be in. remember he introduce greg as a coach for india team & took india to the world cup final after mr. kapil dev. how many century done by more in 1st class cricket & what is his total score in 1 day intl. these people are spoiling the indian cricket. those selectors have great support from pawar - the most valuable cricketer in world history.
