Sehwag Being Preserved
by Monty on Apr 20, 2006 04:08 AM

I am quite surprised about the double policy taken by DRAVID and Chappel, at one point he is supporting players like Sehwag and Kaif, when they are not in form citing that they are special players who is important for the team. Now when the talk comes about Sourav Ganguly they change the tone saying that we need specialist for every position in the batting order and for our surprise Dravid is opening, when the man who scored more runs than Dravid in one day international, and is cited as the best opening pair of the world along with Sachin Tendulkar and of the same age as of Dravid and Sachin, SOurav Ganguly has been thrown out of the team. This is called double policy. Beware Dravid as this can be the case with you also.

waste of time...

this series was pointless. some people wanted to make some money from the gulf zone. whether you accept or not, everyone knew that the series was going to end with 1-1 scoreline. they couldn't afford to have a winner here and that is why they had an even number of games. lets not read too much into the performances and off field statements here...

Igniting Sehwag
by K. Mallick on Apr 19, 2006 04:32 PM

Dravid is absolutely correct; Sehwag is not just a player, he is an explosive critical for India's big victories. Remember, Sehwag had put such pressure on Bret Lee and Shoab Aktar by his flambouyant batting that two speedsters looked mere pedestrians. Out of six fastest centuries by Indians in ODI Sehwag has three, and other three are by Azharuddin, Sachin and Yuvi (the recent one).
With this backdrop it is worthwhile to ignite the volcano that Sehwag is for the good of Indian cricket. If he can play just 60 to 70 balls in an ODI innings, that will put India on the highway of victory, particularly when Indian bowlers are doing extremely well. How many times England lost all 10 wickets against India in their ODIs in the recent series !
