I fully endorse Rahul Dravid's views that we are nowhere near the top and have many areas to cover. This is only possible if we groom and encourage youngsters and discard non-performers and dead wood like Sehwag and Kaif who have been given more than their deserving share of chances to prove themselves. If proof was needed it was provided in ample measure at Indore that the team would do better without them.Sunil Gavaskars' views on grooming Yuvraj as the successor to Dravid is worth considering.Sehwag should therefore be immediately replaced by him for the West Indies Tour.

In form

This match displayed the importance of keeping the in-form players in the side as compared to keeping reputation in consideration that 'he may click this time'. We chased the total effortlessly and were always in site. Every batsman got a 50+ given appropriate time on crease.

The game is greater than an individual. Sehwag and Kaif are good players and dropping them for a match doesnt mean end of road for them. It just says that get back in form because an international team plays to win. Each match is important to win and should not be treated as a practice match to get you back in form, just because you have done wonders in the past. Go to the nets or play domestic cricket to get back in form not in an international ODI!

If only Ganguly had dropped himself to let in-form people play in Zimbabwe and elsewhere .....
