Sehwag about the 6th ODI test
by ssthakur on Apr 13, 2006 08:40 PM

The Editor,

It is high time Sehwag must walk out of the team , instead of blaming the team. What about his own batting. His performance has been absolutely dismal. When some of the teammates have been grounded for failures much less glaring, why he and kaif are being pampered.Moreso when younger talent is waiting in the corriders.IT IS NOT FAIR.

Sehwag & Kaif not complacent but consistent
by balkrishen pandit on Apr 13, 2006 11:09 AM

Sehwag & Kaif were not complacent but consistent in failure. Sehwag has got another ability and that is arrogance. He still feels his inputs are cosiderable. Chapell is also consistents in defending his whims. He can make anybody captain of India. Before Dhoni he shall handover captainancy to Kaif - who has been very consistent of late.

First, let shewag score some runs. Then he can talk about Ganguly and Forgotten episodes. Otherwise, he will become a forgotten episode. Just because , he is captaining, he should'nt talk arrogantly

We know Sehwag was not complacent

We very well understand that Sehwag was not complacent and had taken the match seriously. But he is a human being. He has his limitations. Now that he has been given enough chances, it is upto the great brains to understand that he has lost that charisma. It is his dusk now. A time that a batsman with so much limited skills should say goodbye for good. It is just fair enough to drop him and give chance to some other cricketer, say Sourav Ganguly who has the potential to hold on as well as play brilliant strokes. Now it is upto the selectors to decide whether they would be a bit wise or continue the tradition of being a bunch of jokerswhich he has been till now!
